GREENSBORO, N.C. – The No. 1 Sun Devil Men are kings of the NC State Invite for the second year in a row, closing out their time at the Greensboro Aquatic Center with seven event wins on Saturday to win the NC State Invite.

Hubert Kós (200 back), Jonny Kulow (100 free) and Ilya Kharun (200 fly) each broke school records to shake up the record board three more times as six school records were broken in Greensboro for the Sun Devils this week.

Deniz Ertan and Lindsay Looney both won individual events to help the No. 19 Sun Devil Women snag a second place finish in the final team standings as they improved one spot in the final team standings from last year. Erin Milligan, Charli Brown and Zoe Summar each had top-three individual finishes in the evening finals.

On the final evening of the NC State Invite, 27 Sun Devils had top-eight finishes in the finals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1650 free
The Sun Devil women took the first two spots as Deniz Ertan won the race with a time of 15:53.23, which is the fourth fastest time in program history, and Alexa Reyna was second with a time of 16:07.25. Lia Csulak (6th/16:23.38) and Katherine Randall (9th/16:41.16) rounded out the top ten.

The Sun Devil Men began their night with three finishing within the top-10 of the 1650 free, headlined by Daniel Matheson's third-place effort (14:45.52). Matheson's time is the third best in program history. Ryan King was ninth (15:20.03) and Jake Mason took 10th (15:29.13).

200 back
The Sun Devil Men went 1-2-3 in the 200 back, highlighted by Hubert Kós's school record setting time of 1:36.54. Owen McDonald was second with a time of 1:39.31 and Jack Wadsworth took third with a 1:41.28 finish. Quinlan Gould (6th) rounded out the rest of the race.

Charli Brown took third as she swam a 1:55.23, which is the second fastest time in school history. Hana Edwards (9th) and Athena Clayson (10th) placed in the top-10 for the Sun Devil women.

100 free
Headlined by Kulow's time of 41.44 that set a school record, Dolan took second with a 41.53 along with Sammon (4th), Behar (7th), Hill (9th) and Peel (11th) finishing in the top-12.

Erin Milligan owned the best showing in the Women's 100 free, taking third place with her time of 48.84, which is tied for the seventh-best time in team history. Maluka took sixth with a time of 49.30.

200 breast
The Sun Devil Women were scattered across the leaderboard in the 200 breast, highlighted by Zoe Summar's 2:09.41 that netted her third-place. Emma Gehlert (5th/2:11.50), Sonia Vaishnani (7th/2:15.12) and Ginger McMahon (8th/2:16.87) rounded out the top-10.

Similarly, the Men crowded the top of the leaderboard, as four finished within the top-eight with Schlicht winning the event with a 1:51.55, which is the ninth-best time in program history. Cale Martter (3rd/1:54.05), Andy Dobrzanski (4th/1:54.83) and John Heaphy (6th/1:56.16) finished in the top-eight.

200 fly
On back-to-back days, Ilya Kharun set a school record. After breaking the program's 100 fly time on Friday, the freshman followed it up by setting a new team-best in the 200 fly on Saturday with his time of 1:39.10.  Alex Colson finished in second with a time of 1:41.32.

Lindsay Looney won the event with a 1:54.02 finish with Jade Foelske (7th), Katrina Marty (8th) and Grace Lindberg (11th) finishing in the top-12.

400 free relay
The Sun Devil Men went a perfect 5-for-5 in relays this weekend, capping it off with a win in the 400 free relay on Saturday evening. Dolan-Kharun-Patrick Sammon-Kulow went 2:46.57 to grab first, which is the fifth fastest time in program history.

Erin Milligan, Ieva Maluka, Lindsay Looney and Molly Batchelor saved their best for last in the 400 free relay, as the squad finished second at 3:15.04. It's the third-best time in program history.

BROKEN RECORDS
Kulow and Kos' broken records were recorda No. 4 and 5  that the the Sun Devils crushed altogether in their time in Greensboro. The sixth came from Kharun in the final individual event of the weekend. He took down the men's 200 fly record to now hold possession of the school record in both men's butterfly events.

MORNING PRELIMS
Charli Brown took fourth in the morning prelims to advance to the A final as she finished with a 1:55.34 in the 200 back. Her time was the third fastest in program history.
Owen McDonald (1st/1:40.39), Hubert Kós (2nd/1:40.99), Jack Wadsworth (3rd/1:42.09) and Quinlan Gould (7th/1:43.92) all qualified for the A final in the men's 200 back.

In the women's 100 free preliminaries, Erin Milligan (2nd/49.25) and Ieva Maluka (8th/49.59) both advanced to the A final.

Like in the men's 200 back, four qualified for the A final of the men's 100 free with another 1-2-3 finish: Jack Dolan (1st/41.57), Jonny Kulow (2nd/41.63), Patrick Sammon (3rd/42.54) and Tiago Behar (7th/42.90). Dolan swam the second fastest time in program history.

Zoe Summar (3rd/2:09.69) and Emma Gehlert (6th/2:12.71) advanced to the final in the women's 200 breast.

In the men's 200 breast, four advanced to the A final: David Schlicht (1st/1:52.94), Andy Dobrzanski (2nd/1:55.45), Cale Martter (3rd/1:55.70) and John Heaphy (7th/1:57.60).

In the final event of the morning, Lindsay Looney (1st/1:54.86), Jade Foelske (5th/1:58.68) and Katrina Marty (8th/1:59.63) all qualified for the A final in the women's 200 fly.

In the men's 200 fly, Ilya Kharun took first with a 1:40.84 and Alex Colson was third with a 1:45.78 to advanced to the evening finals. Kharun's time is seventh fastest in school history.
