GREENSBORO, N.C. – It's been pure domination through the first two nights of competition for the Sun Devils at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Ilya Kharun was the story of Day 2 of the NC State Invite, after he set a program record in the 100 fly in his third time swimming a sub-45.00 in the event this season.
Among both programs, a total of nine events were won during the finals on the second day. The No. 1 Men still hold a comfortable advantage atop the team standings. The No. 19 Sun Devil Women will enter Saturday evening in second after a strong Day 2.

RECORDS FALLING IN GREENSBORO
Ieva Maluka kicked things off on Day 1 with her record-setting performance in the 200 IM on Thursday evening.
The men's 200 medley relay consisting of Jack Dolan, Ilya Kharun, Cam Peel and Jonny Kulow, and Kharun followed suit on Friday morning. Here's the trio of records the Sun Devils have set so far this week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
200 MEDLEY RELAY
The relay of Marty-Summar-Looney-Milligan took third as they swam a 1:38.63. The squad of Dolan-Marchand-Kharun-Kulow won the men's 200 medley relay with a 1:21.85.
400 IM
Ertan started off the afternoon for the Sun Devil women as she took second in the 400 IM.
Kós won the first individual event of the afternoon for the Sun Devils as he swam a 3:35.82, which is ninth fastest in program history. Schlicht, Marchand, Martter, Matheson and Mason rounded out the top-10 for the Sun Devil men.
100 FLY
Looney and Katrina Marty rounded out the top three as Looney was third with a 52.64 and Marty took fifth with a 53.51.
For the second time in one day, Kharun broke the school record in the 100 fly as he swam a 44.33 in the A-final. Kulow swam a 45.33 to take second with Alex Colson taking fifth with a 46.30 and Filip Senc Samardzic taking sixth with a 46.77.
200 FREE
Four Sun Devils packed in the top-six of the women's 200 free. Maluka won the event with a 1:44.83. Here's how they fared the rest of the way: Batchelor (4th/1:46.73), Milligan (5th/1:46.92) and Straume (6th/1:47.15).
The Sun Devil men took the first four spots in this event as Hill won with a 1:32.06 with McDonald (2nd/1:32.41), Sammon (3rd/1:32.65) and Behar (4th/1:33.27) rounding out the top four.
100 BREAST
Summar took third with a 1:00.37 while McMahon (6th/1:02.16) and Gehlert (7th/1:02.28) rounded out the top ten. Dobrzanski won this event with a 52.52 with Heaphy in third with a 52.62 for the Sun Devils.
100 BACK
Marty took fifth (53.44) and Athena Clayson rounded out the top ten (9th/54.13).
Kós won his second individual event of the day as he swam a 44.37 with Dolan in second place at 45.47 and Wadsworth with a 45.90 to round out the top three.
800 FREE RELAY
The relay of Looney-Maluka-Milligan-Batchelor began the last event of the evening on a high note, winning the relay with a 7:00.45.
To end the day, the squad of Hill-McDonald-Sammon-Kulow won the relay with a time of 6:13.66.

MORNING PRELIMINARIES
Day 2 picked up right where day one ended as Hubert Kós won the 400 IM with three other Sun Devils rounding out the top five. Deniz Ertan and Sonia Vaishnani qualified for the A final in this event as well.
In the men's 100 fly preliminary, Kharun had his school record setting time of 44.51 with Kulow in second with a 46.10. Lindsay Looney (3rd/52.87)and Katrina Marty (7th/54.18) qualifying for the evening's finals of the 100 fly.
Looney won the 200 free with Ieva Maluka (3rd/1:45.86), Erin Milligan (5th/1:46.88), Elli Straume (7th/1:47.51) and Molly Batchelor (8th/1:47.62) en route to the evening's finals.
Zoe Summar, Emma Gehlert and Ginger McMahon all qualified for the A finals of the 100 breast as well as Andy Dobrzanski and John Heaphy.
To round out the morning preliminaries, Marty qualified for the A final of the 100 back and Kós, Jack Dolan and Jack Wadsworth qualified for the A final of the men's 100 back.

The Sun Devil Men are in prime position to win this invitational tomorrow on Day 3 of the NC State Invite, which will begin with preliminaries (7:30 a.m. MST) followed by the evening finals session (3:30 p.m. MST).
