GREENSBORO, N.C. --  Not once, but twice! Ieva Maluka began her day breaking the 200 IM record in the morning prelims with a 1:55.61 finish and ended her day with a win in the 200 IM finals with a time of 1:55.46, breaking the record she set earlier that morning.

The Sun Devils were relentless out of the gate in the evening session, winning five races to open the first night of finals in the five-team invite at the Greensboro Aquatic Center and two school records were broken throughout the day.

Jack Dolan, Ilya Kharun, Cam Peel and Jonny Kulow took the 200 free final at 1:14.64, which set a school record in the event.

The Sun Devils also swept the 500 free, with Lindsay Looney winning the Women's race at a a 4:38.97, and Julian Hill taking the Men's race at 4:12.37, which is third fastest time in program history. Deniz Ertan was in second with a time of 4:40.32 in the 500 free.

Along with Maluka's program record setting finish in the 200 IM, Hubert Kós won the 200 IM with a 1:39.26, which is the seventh fastest time in program history. Rounding out the top three in the 200 IM were Owen McDonald (1:41.60) and David Schlicht (1:42.25). 

Kharun finished as the runner-up in the 50 free with an 18.93 as that finish is the fourth fastest in school history and his second time of the day swimming sub-19.00 in a 50 free. 

Erin Milligan was electric in the finals of the 50 free as she swam a 22.32, which is eighth fastest in program history and a season best for her as she took fourth.

Charli Brown took fourth in the 200 IM (1:58.52) along with Molly Batchelor taking sixth in the 500 free (4:46.10) and Alexa Reyna finishing seventh in the 500 free (4:46.59). 

The relay of Maluka, Zoe Summar, Looney and Milligan finished third in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:33.14. 

To end the day, the 400 medley relay of Dolan, Schlicht, Kharun and Kulow won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:01.60 with Kós, Dobrzanski, Colson and Sammon taking second.

MORNING PRELIMS
16 Sun Devils qualified for the finals in the morning preliminary session, headlined by Maluka's win in the 200 IM (1:55.61). Hubert Kós won the 200 IM with a time of 1:41.56, Deniz Ertan took first in the 500 free with a time of 4:42.41 and Jack Dolan won the 50 free with an 18.90, the third fastest time in program history.

Julian Hill and Owen McDonald each added their own second-place finishes, with Hill having a season best 4:17.46, McDonald following up Kós in the 200 IM at 1:42.48.

Men's 200 IM– David Schlicht (1:43.71/3rd) and Cale Martter (1:43.82/4th)

The Sun Devils will have a chance to keep the momentum rolling tomorrow for Day 2 of the NC State Invite, which will begin with preliminaries (7:30 a.m. MST) followed by the evening finals session (3:30 p.m. MST).
