Matt Langley

TitleAssistant Coach

Head coach Sheila McInerney announced in 2015 that Matt Langley would join the program as an assistant coach.

“We are excited to have Matt join our women’s tennis program as he will be a great addition in every way,” McInerney said. “First and foremost Matt is a really good person of high character and integrity. He is a fun to be around and I think the team will enjoy working hard with and for him.”

Langley joins the Sun Devils from Middle Tennessee State University, his alma mater, where he most recently served as assistant coach for its women’s tennis program. At MTSU, Langley helped coach the Blue Raiders to one of their best seasons in program history, recording a 19-5 overall record, 7-1 in Conference USA competition.

“Matt was a successful junior and collegiate player so I know he will be able to bring a wealth of knowledge to our program from a tennis standpoint,” McInerney added. “He also excelled in the classroom so he knows the demands of being a student-athlete. I know Matt is anxious to get started and we feel fortunate to have him on board."

A member of the MTSU men’s tennis team from 2009-12, Langley was a two-year co-captain and three-time Sun Belt Conference Champion, earning two Most Outstanding Player honors at the Sun Belt Conference Championships. Langley also recorded three career appearances at the NCAA Championships.

Langley graduated from MTSU with a degree in exercise science, and was a two-time Academic All-American and ITA Scholar-Athlete.
