33 of ASU’s all-time top-10 indoor/outdoor pole vaulting marks (men and women) were set by Barela’s athletes.

Celebrated Tommi Hintnaus, Hayley Rayburn and Sevanna Hanson going 2-3-4 at the 2021 Pac-12 Championships. Followed that performance with all three and Cole Riddle vaulting at the NCAA West Prelims. The women’s best marks in 2021 all rank third, fourth and fifth all-time in the Sun Devil record books.
Developed Taylor Starkey into one of the top vaulters in Women's team history. Starkey went 4.28m at the 2024 Pac-12 Championships, as she now holds the fourth-best mark in Outdoor team history.
Took Hayley Rayburn to the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships where she earned second team All-American honors. Rayburn’s 4.32m/14-2 jump that season set a new program indoor record.
In 2018, true freshman Cole Riddle finished second at the US Junior Championships and seventh at the World U20 Championships.
Riddle set the freshman school record by clearing 5.50m/18-0.50 feet, good for second all-time in school history.
