This Week --
A split Sun Devil track and field squad hosts the Arizona State Invitational Saturday, March 31, at Sun Angel Stadium, while ASU's elite distance runners head to the Stanford Invitational Saturday, March 31 through Sunday, April 1 and ASU's top four throwers compete in the UC San Diego Spring Break Open Friday, March 30 through Saturday, March 31. Hosting its second meet in two weeks, ASU will open competition Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. with field events, followed by running events at 11 a.m. MST.
ASU Invitational --
Saturday, the Sun Devils will welcome both the men's and women's squads from Iowa State, Northern Arizona, Notre Dame and Southern Utah -- a small number in comparison to the 14 schools in town for last weekend's Baldy Castillo Invitational. ASU's entries will feature its star male sprinting corps, led by 1600m relay team members Marcus Brunson (100/200), Tony Berrian (400), Jason Barton (400) and Michael Campbell (400). Also among those competing for ASU will be Tony Galaviz (110H/100), David Burke (800), Phillip Prince (800), Arlaina Davis (400/200), Courtnie Ratliff (400/200), Candida Coulson (400/400H), Joni Smith (400H), Tiffany Greer (100), Sharesa Turner (100) and Jen Bridgeman (800). Results from the ASU Invitational will be available on ASU's official website, www.thesundevils.com, once the meet is complete.
Stanford Invitational --
ASU will send 10 athletes to the Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field this weekend: Kelly MacDonald, Lisa Aguilera, Mary Duerbeck, Brianna Torres, Valerie Williams, Fasil Bizuneh, Kris Alexander, Ronnie Buchanan, Jeremy Rasmussen, and Brandon Strong. The Stanford Invitational includes both high school and collegiate competition, with collegians beginning at noon Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday PST. Collegiate schools competing include Pac-10 opponents Stanford, Washington, California, Arizona, Oregon, USC and Washington State, along with Michigan, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Purdue, Missouri, LSU, Colorado State, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Tulane, Brigham Young, and Georgetown.
UC San Diego Spring Break Open--
Sun Devil throwers Adrienne Judie, Eric Logvin, Vince Mosca and David Wood will head to La Jolla, Calif., for the UC San Diego Spring Break Open at Triton Stadium, Friday, March 30 through Sunday, March 31. Competition Friday begins at noon, while Saturday's meet commences with field events at 9 a.m. and running events at 10 a.m. PST.
National Rankings --
According to the latest Trackwire.com national poll released March 27, ASU's men check in at No. 18 with George Mason and Texas A&M, while the women do not appearn in the rankings. For complete polls for both NCAA men and women, go to www.trackwire.com.
Men's 1600m Relay Team Automatically Qualifies for NCAAs --
Highlighting last weekend's Baldy Castillo Invitational was the performance of ASU's men's 1600m relay team (Michael Campbell, Marcus Brunson, Jason Barton and Tony Berrian), which automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with the second-fastest time in ASU outdoor history (3:03.20). Going into this weekend, ASU has qualified six individuals (provisional) and two relay teams for nationals: Marcus Brunson (100), Tony Berrian (400), David Wood (shot put), Lisa Aguilera (1500), Valerie Williams (LJ), Tiffany Greer (LJ) and both men's and women's 1600m relays.

The Sun Devils will hit the road next weekend, as they will compete in the Texas Relays, Friday, April 6 through Saturday, April 7. The next home meet for ASU is the Sun Angel Classic, Saturday, April 14 at Sun Angel Stadium.
