ASU: 2001 Pac-10 shot put champion...ranks sixth all-time in ASU history in the outdoor shot put (62-6.5) and ranks second all-time in the indoor weight throw (57-8.5).
2001 Outdoor: Placed 12th in the shot put at the NCAA Championships (59-8.5)...at the Pac-10 Championships, won the shot put title with personal-best effort of 62-6.50 and placed third in the discus with a personal-best mark of 187-1 ...first ASU shot put Pac-10 champion since Shane Collins in 1992... also won shot put titles at the Mesa Classic (61-3.5), Oregon Invitational (61-11.5) and the UA/NAU Double Dual (60-6)...added a discus title at the UA/NAU Double Dual (183-2)...placed second in the hammer at the Bill Sawyer Invitational (177-11).
2001 Indoor: Owned ASU's top season marks in the weight throw (57-8.5 - second best in ASU history) and shot put (56-5.25)...season-best weight throw mark came in the first meet of the season with a third-place effort at the NAU Invitational...in the shot put, placed third at both the Flagstaff Invitational (56-5.25) and UA/NAU Double Dual (50-9.5).
Ricks College: Competed in shot, discus and javelin at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho from 1998-2000...earned associates degree in general education...two-time All-American...
NJCAA discus champion...also placed second in the shot and fifth in the javelin in the NJCAA national meet...helped team to third place national finish.
High School: 1998 graduate of Pendleton High School in Pendleton, Ore....lettered in track, football, basketball and wrestling...two-time track team captain ('97-'98).
Personal: Majoring in nursing...parents are Duane and Arydthe Wood...has five siblings, Robert (36), Jeff (34), Kim (31), Leslie (27) and Melissa (25)...born June 23, 1979, in Pendleton, Ore....full name is David Bradley Wood.
