ATLANTA – Blink and you might miss them! Sun Devil Men’s Swimming won its second national championship of the week in the 200 free relay, setting an NCAA record in 1:12.46, Thursday night at McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.
The win is the program's first national title in the 200 free relay and the fourth relay title since 2024. The team sits in third place entering Friday with 133.5 points.
Senior Jonny Kulow brought home the title with a 17.99 sub-50 free anchor leg after junior Ilya Kharun put the Sun Devils in front with an electric 17.76, 50 free swim. Graduate Adam Cahaney swam an 18.12 50 free leg prior to graduate Remi Fabiani opening the race with an 18.59 50 free.

Kharun, placed third in the 100 fly in 42.92, setting a Big 12 record and a school record in the 100 fly. The swim set a personal best for the junior and made him the fourth individual to break 43 seconds in the event all time. Additionally, Kharun broke his own Big 12 record and school record in the 100 fly.
Fabiani swam a personal best in the 200 free (1:30.81), finishing in fifth place. The graduate is the third Sun Devil all time to record a sub-1:31 200 freestyle time. He also earned First Team All-American honors.
Senior Andy Dobrzanski finished in a tie for 15th with a 51.53 100 breast in the morning prelims, earning him Second Team All-American honors for the second consecutive season.
Six Sun Devils are slated to compete in tomorrow’s preliminary swims starting at 7 a.m. MST and finals starting at 3 p.m. MST. The championships can be streamed on ESPN+. Only the top eight in preliminary swims will have the opportunity to swim in the evening finals session. All relay swims are timed finals.
