TEMPE – Sun Devil Wrestling will begin the 2026 calendar year with a trip to Sioux Falls for a dual against South Dakota State on Friday, Jan. 2. The match will be held at the Sanford Pentagon, with the action to get underway at 6:00 p.m. MST / 7:00 p.m. CST. The match is available to stream via Midco Sports plus.
The Sun Devils (0-4, 0-1 Big 12) are set to take on the Jackrabbits (3-0, 0-0 Big 12) for just the third time in program history, this time both as members of the Big 12 conference. The all-time series stands at 2-0 in favor of Arizona State, with the last matchup dating back to 2018 (W, 30-9).
ASU is coming off a short-handed road loss to No. 25 Wisconsin (L, 26-15), but reinforcements are on the way as standout brothers Kyler and Kaleb Larkin are expected to return on Friday.

3: The Sun Devils saw three student-athletes take home an individual title at the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday, Dec. 21. Junior An’ee Vigil (125 lb), redshirt senior Cael Valencia (174 lb), and freshman Ben Szuba (HWT) each went perfect on the mat in their respective divisions to claim titles.
3: The freshmen trio of Gabriel Delgado, Ben Szuba and Joseph Manfredi each recorded their first wins by fall of their respective careers at the Reno TOC.
3: Redshirt sophomore Nicco Ruiz has set a new single-season career high of three wins by major decision, topping his previous career high of two in 2024.
3: The Sun Devils have three separate duos of brothers on the active roster: The Larkins (Kaleb and Kyler), the Szubas (Ben and David), and the Ysaguirre’s (Aidan and Emilio)
4: Valencia (174 lb) rattled off four consecutive technical fall victories en route to a 174-lb championship at the Reno TOC.
4: Kyler Larkin has defeated four opponents ranked within the top-30 this season: No. 6 Tyler Knox (Stanford), No. 11 Dillon Campbell (Virginia Tech), No. 17 Richard Figueroa II (Oklahoma State), and No. 30 Jarvis Little (Appalachian State).
5: Redshirt sophomore Pierson Manville recorded his team-leading fifth TF win of the season after downing Wisconsin’s Brock Bobzien (TF, 21-5 / 4:12).
6: The Larkin brothers have combined to go a perfect 6-0 across three duals this season. They are the only Sun Devils to remain undefeated in duals this season.

29: Rider transfer David Szuba recorded the fastest fall of the season so far in just 29 seconds over Davidson’s DJ Spring. The 29-second takedown was the third fastest of Szuba’s career between Rider and ASU.
60: Graduate student Chance McLane earned the 60th victory of his career between Oklahoma State and ASU after a 7-3 win by decision over Wisconsin’s Luke Mechler.
125: The 125-lb bout between Damian Moreno and SDSU’s Brady Roark will be a rematch of the R-32 at the Cliff Keen Invitational. Moreno upset No. 3 seed Roark by MD 12-4 in the initial meeting.
