Wrestling to host #5 Oklahoma State in first home dual of the season
TEMPE – Sun Devil Wrestling is set for its first home dual of the season, welcoming in No. 5 Oklahoma State in what will also be the first conference matchup of the season. The dual will be held at Desert Financial Arena on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 1:00 p.m. MST.
Tickets are available for purchase via Ticketmaster, with walk-up tickets also available for purchase at Desert Financial Arena’s ticketing office. For those who cannot attend, the match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Jaden Taylor and Aaron Simpson on the call.
Arizona State’s star trio of No. 2 Kaleb Larkin (149 LB), No. 29 Kyler Larkin (133 LB) and No. 30 Pierson Manville (141 LB) have gotten off to a blazing start, with each wrestler individually at 6-0 on the young season. The group has combined to outscore opponents 255-36 in the 18 total wins, with eight tech falls, four falls and three major decisions.
All six of Kaleb Larkin's wins have been bonus point victories (2 TF, 2 F, 2 MD). His signature win came at the National Duals Invitational, defeating then-No. 2 Lachlan McNeil (Michigan), by MD 11-1. Kaleb began the season unranked in the 149-lb division, but now holds No. 2 in FloWrestling’s rankings and No. 4 in Intermat’s, respectively.
As for Manville, he's outscored opponents by an eye-popping total of 71-4 across six bouts. The redshirt-freshman has added a team-best three tech fall wins, in addition to picking up his first career major decision over Lehigh’s Carter Bailey (11-1).

ASU dropped both of its first two duals of the season to Michigan and Lehigh, with respective scores of 30-10 and 24-18.
Kaleb Larkin made national noise all weekend, as he secured a marquee win over then-No. 2 ranked Lachlan McNeil (Michigan) MD 12-3 before notching a TF 19-4 (7:00) over Owen Reinsel (Lehigh).
Kaleb Larkin was joined by younger brother Kyler Larkin and Manville as Sun Devils to go undefeated at the National Duals Invitational.
Scouting the opposition
Oklahoma State comes into the weekend as one of the nation’s most complete programs across the board. The Cowboys are off to a 4-1 start, with their lone loss to No. 3 Iowa (18-16) in the semifinals of the National Duals Invitational.

94: Kyler Larkin holds a team-best 94 individual points on the season. The freshman has outscored opponents 94-19 across his six wins, five of which coming by bonus points (3 TF, 2 F).
19: ASU has climbed back into Flo Wrestling’s team tournament rankings at No. 19 after starting the season at No. 37. It’s the team’s highest rank since Mar. 10, 2025 (17th).

6: A tournament best six Sun Devils won their respective weight class brackets at the MSU Open. While team scores were not kept, ASU also led all schools with its six individual winners.
29: Rider transfer David Szuba recorded the fastest fall of the young season in just 29 seconds over Davidson’s DJ Spring. The 29-second takedown was the third-fastest of Szuba’s career between Rider and ASU.
8: Eight different Sun Devils made their ASU debuts at the Michigan State Open: Kyler Larkin, Jabari Hinson, Israel Ibarra, Aidan Ysaguirre, Leo Tukhlynovych, Ben Szuba, David Szuba.
14: The Sun Devils welcome 14 newcomers to the team, making it the largest signing class in Sun Devil Wrestling history.
33: Cael Valencia has earned 33 career wins while wrestling at 174 lbs. After spending the majority of last season at the 184 lb mark, Valencia will return to 174 with hopes of adding to the win total.
3: The Sun Devils have three separate duos of brothers on the active roster: The Larkins (Kaleb and Kyler), The Szubas (Ben and David), and the Ysaguirres (Aidan and Emilio).
2: After Zahid Valencia took home gold at the Senior World Wrestling Championships, he now joins current head coach Zeke Jones as the only Sun Devils to win a world championship.
6: Zeke Jones has redefined success and placed the Sun Devils back into the national spotlight since his hiring in April 2014. Under his leadership, the Sun Devils have won six conference titles, as Jones trails just Bobby Douglas (8) for most in team history. Jones sits behind just Douglas and Men’s Golf’s Randy Lein (8) for the most conference titles among any coach in Sun Devil history.
