PITTSBURGH – With eight earning a perfect 4.0 GPA, Sun Devil Gymnastics had 14 on the 2024-25 WCGA Academic All-America list and was ranked No. 24 in the nation for team GPA.
With a team GPA of 3.7047, Arizona State was ranked No. 24 among all gymnastics teams. ASU had 14 on the WCGA list, the eighth time in the last nine years with 10 or more earning the honor. To earn WCGA Scholastic All-America status, student-athletes must earn a 3.5 overall GPA for the entire school year.
The three fifth years on last year’s roster, Sarah Clark, Jada Mangahas and Sarah Clark, wrapped up their careers with a fifth scholastic All-American nod in each of their careers. Senior Alex Theodorou also ended her career going a perfect 4 for 4 with this honor. Those four were among the eight Gym Devils with a perfect 4.0 GPA, alongside teammates Halle Braaflat, Jenna Blair, Kimberly Smith and Lilia Purler.
The Sun Devils have seen other academic awards this season. Mangahas and White earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the third year in a row. Additionally, 11 were named to the 2025 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team, which requires a GPA of 3.20 and participation in 20 percent of team contests.
Overall, 1,218 student-athletes earned a 3.5 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale, the most ever recorded by the WCGA (since it began in 2008). There were 302 student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA, another record. Across all gymnasts this year, the average GPA was a 3.6558, which is the highest since 2015. For the complete list of teams and honorees can be seen on this document.
