--After placing sixth at the NCAA Championships in March, wrestling has now had four consecutive top-seven finishes, while having four straight seasons with at least four All-Americans. Tenth-year head coach Zeke Jones has ushered the Sun Devils into the national spotlight on a consistent basis.

--In a historic 2023 season, volleyball went 28-7 under first-year head coach JJ Van Niel, who won Pac-12 Coach of the Year as the 28 wins is the second-best in school history. The squad reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015 and won two NCAA Tournament matches for the first time in program history.

--#DYK? ASU is one of just four schools (Brown, Michigan and Long Island) to have hockey, wrestling, women's gymnastics and women's water polo...and is the only one of that group that sponsors beach volleyball. ASU is the only university that sponsors hockey, wrestling, gymnastics, water polo and beach volleyball.

KENNY DILLINGHAM/FIRST SEASON /// HIRED NOV. 27, 2022
3-9 OVERALL/2-7 PAC-12 (T-9)

Head Coach Kenny Dillingham brought a new level of energy and passion to the field during his first season at the helm of his alma mater. Highlights from Dillingham's first season in Tempe included a season-opening victory over Southern Utah, where the Maroon & Gold overcame a three-hour weather delay to secure a 1-0 start. Despite battling mid-season injuries that plagued the QB position, Dillingham led his team to conference victories over Washington State and UCLA. The Sun Devils also held national runner-up Washington to only three field goals and nearly upset the top-5 Huskies on the road. ASU sold out Mountain America Stadium two straigh games (USC and Colorado), the first time the stadium has been sold out multiple games in a row since 2007. Attendance was 54,166 against USC on Sept. 23, the highest recorded in Tempe since November 25, 2017. Running back Cam Skattebo was recognized as one of the top all-around players in the nation. Skattebo was one of three finalists for the Paul Hornung Award, given to the most versatile player in college football. He was officially Arizona State's first non-specialist finalist for a major national award since Terrell Suggs won the Lombardi, Nagurski, and Hendricks Award after a legendary 2002 campaign. Defensive lineman B.J. Green was named to the All-Pac-12 second team, while defensive lineman C.J. Fite earned Pac-12 honorable mention honors for Freshman Defensive Player of the Year.

Junior Preston Summerhays won the Sahalee Players Championship in Washington. The team also won the CPC Invitational (Oct. 30-31), the Cabo Collegiate (Mar. 3-5) and ASU's Thunderbird Collegiate (April 12-13). NAMED HEAD COACH JULY 5, 2022 /// CLICK HERE FOR FINAL STATISTICS
9-10 OVERALL/3-4 PAC-12 (T-3RD)

Despite the sub-.500 record, Sun Devil Lacrosse made waves this season in the second year of the Taryn VanThof era after posting a program-best 3-0 record to start the season. Eight of the team's 10 losses came to Top-25 opponents, including the final loss of the season to No. 19 Stanford which came in the Semifinal round of the Pac-12 Tournament. The team posted 15 goals in the loss which was a Cardinal-high goals allowed in 2024. Despite the loss, senior defender Zoe Mazur etched her name atop the Pac-12 and ASU draw control career record books after tallying 19 in the season finale and totaling 167 on the season and 330 in her career. The records broken after the semifinal game included: Pac-12 single-game record, ASU single-game record, Pac-12 career draw control record, and Pac-12 single-season record. Lacrosse saw improvements from 2023 after having three Pac-12 All-Conference nominees and earning four Pac-12 weekly honors after having just one All-Conference and one weekly award the season prior. The team was led by 12 seniors and graduates including standouts in their final season, Mina Scott and Zoe Mazur, whose draw control domination was noted above. Scott recorded a career-high 47 goals and led the team with 68 points. MEN'S TENNIS
MATT HILL/SEVENTH SEASON (EIGHTH YEAR)
NAMED HEAD COACH
JUNE 29, 2016
18-10 OVERALL/4-2 IN PAC-12 (Advanced to Round of 32 in NCAA Tournament)
Men's Tennis finished their best program since reinstatement ending at No. 20 in the polls after being consistently ranked in the Top-25 from February on. The team recorded an 18-win season which was the most wins since 1991 and advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament, eventually falling to No. 6 Wake Forest, though despite the 4-3 loss, the Sun Devils were just the third team to put three points on the board against Wake Forest in their 28 wins. The most notable win was the upset over No. 13 Michigan in the program's first-ever ITA Indoor Championship tournament appearance, and was one of eight wins over a ranked team this season. Among the five name to the Pac-12 All Conference teams, the season standouts were freshman Bor Artnak, junior Murphy Cassone and senior Jacob Bullard. Artnak had an individual-high ranking of #55 in the ITA singles rankings at one point in the season, competing primarily from the second position and amassed a 13-4 singles record. Alongside Max McKennon, the duo was ranked in the ITA doubles polls, opening the first poll at #15, but falling as the season went on. Cassone had a stellar season, picking up a season-high #3 ranking in the ITA singles rankings after defeating then-No. 4 Ozan Baris in the Diablos Invitational. He was a consistent top-15 player and was an at large bid for the NCAA singles tournament and earned the automatic Pac-12 doubles team bid alongside Jacob Bullard, despite the pair not playing together from the first position until mid-April. Cassone advanced to the quarterfinal of both rounds before falling in third-set tiebreakers for both matches, but secured All-American honors for both singles and doubles, with Bullard earning the doubles All-American nod. Prior to Cassone's two All-American nods in 2023 and 2024, the program had not had an All-American since Jeff Williams and Ed Carter were named doubles All-Americans in 1999. Cassone is just the third player in program history to earn multiple singles All-American honors, and is the first player to earn both singles and doubles All-American honors since Sargis Sargsian in 1994.

WRESTLING

6th AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP/1st IN PAC-12

An individual national champion, a fourth consecutive top-seven finish at NCAAs and four All-Americans in 2023-24 happened for Zeke Jones and the Sun Devils. It was business as usual for the Sun Devils this season, who continue to establish themselves as one of the country's elite programs. 125-pounder Richard Figueroa won the team's first individual NCAA title since 2019 (Zahid Valencia), defeating No. 3 Drake Ayala (Iowa) in the final to become the 10th individual champion in team history. Figueroa went 5-0 at the T-Mobile Center, knocking off two top-three seeds, to help the Sun Devils place sixth. He was joined in the finals session by Jacori Teemer, as the duo marked the first time since 2011 that the Sun Devils had multiple NCAA finalists. Figueroa, Kyle Parco (fifth), Teemer (second) and Cohlton Schultz (sixth) earned All-American status at the championships in Kansas City, marking the fourth consecutive season the Sun Devils have had at least four AAs. Parco, Teemer and Schultz, now four-time AAs, are among an elite club of just eight Sun Devils to earn four-time AA honors in team history. Weeks before KC, the Sun Devils added another Pac-12 title, winning their fourth in the past five years in Corvallis. It was the 24th conference title in team history, as the Sun Devils bid adieu to the Pac-12 by having five individual conference champions (Figueroa, Parco, Teemer, Schultz and Jesse Vasquez). The Sun Devils marched into the postseason on a mission, winning five of their last seven duals of the regular season, beating polished programs like Pittsburgh, Oregon State, Stanford and Lehigh. The attention now shifts to 2024-25, where the Sun Devils will join the vaunted Big-12 Conference and are expected to return seven of eight NCAA qualifiers from this season.
