TEMPE - Arizona State women's golf heads East to compete at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate from Feb. 27 - March 1 at Long Cove Club.
The Darius Rucker Intercollegiate features six Top-10 teams and will be the lone regular season women's collegiate golf tournament broadcasted on GOLF Channel, the second year the program has received national exposure at this prestigious event. The Sun Devils will look to build off their 2022 effort in which they finished third in a loaded Darius Rucker field and received significant attention thanks to their performance.
COACH'S CORNER
"It is a great opportunity," Coach Farr-Kaye stated in reference to the trip to the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. "South Carolina and Long Cove do a great job hosting. The hospitality there is second to none. A great event and getting to be on the GOLF Channel just adds to it. It is great for them to be able to experience that. Our freshman haven't been on the GOLF Channel before, so any time you get to practice that a little bit, it is a great experience."
LAST TIME OUT
Arizona State beat out five Top-25 teams to earn a third-place finish at one of the Nexus Collegiate. The only two teams to finish ahead of ASU were No. 2 Wake Forest and No. 9 LSU. A big reason for their success was a balanced effort from all five Sun Devils, as each counting golfer finishing tied for 21st or better. The Maroon & Gold solidified their position in third-place by delivering the second-best round of the final day (293).
Leading the way for Arizona State was Paula Schulz-Hanssen and Grace Summerhays, who each finished tied for fourth. The finish is even more impressive when you consider it was in a field with 20 of the Top-90 and 13 of the Top-50 golfers in the latest Golfstat rankings. Amanda Linner joined them in the Top-20 (T-18th), while Beth Coulter and Ashley Menne ended up just outside the Top-20 (T-21st). Arizona State was one of two teams to not have a counting golfer finish outside the Top-25, an indication of the team effort.

This represents a significant opportunity for Arizona State to test themselves in a NCAA Championship setting. ASU is joined by No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 3 Oregon, No. 4 South Carolina, No. 6 LSU, No. 8 Texas, and No. 9 Baylor among other national contenders.
Not only is their high-ranking teams at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, the tournament will boast some of the top individual talent in the nation. 23 of the Top-52 golfers in the latest Golfstat rankings are registered for this event, including No. 52 Ashley Menne from Arizona State. In total, 41 of the Top-100 golfers in the country are scheduled to go head-to-head at the Darius Rucker, including No. 98 Grace Summerhays from Arizona State.

All three rounds of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate will be live on GOLF Channel. For the second consecutive year, the Darius Rucker makes history as the lone televised regular season women's collegiate golf tournament. Last season's event was a smashing success, with a massive audience tuning into the broadcast. Sun Devil fans will once again have a chance to watch Arizona State with coverage provided from 12:30-3:30 PM MST each day. GOLF Channel's live broadcast on day two of the Darius Rucker will likely feature Arizona State the most as the team tees-of later in the day on Tuesday. The action can also be streamed live on Peacock. Event coverage includes college-themed daily Golf Today shows at 10 am MST and College Central at 12 pm MST.

Amanda Linner qualifies for the lineup in her second straight event and will be in the No. 3 slot. No stranger to big events, Ashley Menne will provide essential leadership from the No. 4 positiion. Beth Coulter will gain valuable experience with the pressure on at a televised event, as she snatched the final qualifying spot.
HISTORY AT DARIUS RUCKER
Long Cove Club, in partnership with Darius Rucker and South Carolina, will again play host on Hilton Head Island for the 11th time. This is the sixth time Arizona State has appeared, competing in last year's tournament.
In 2022, Calynne Rosholt and Alexandra Forsterling led the way individually for the Sun Devils, each finishing in the Top-10 at the Darius Rucker. Rosholt set the pace by tying for third place, with Forsterling not far behind her teammate finishing in a tie for sixth.
The Sun Devils have finished fourth or higher three, including third-place finishes in 2022 & 2017. Linnea Strom finished second, while Sophia Zeeb claimed third place individually in 2017. Back in 2013, Noemi Jimenez won her second-straight individual title during a breakout sophomore season, claiming medalist honors at the Darius Rucker. She earned a four-stroke win and was joined by teammate Daniela Ordonez (4th) in finishing in the Top-5.
