- Made his collegiate debut with a personal best 61.39m throw in the javelin at the Baldy Castillo Invitational.
- Finished 32nd at the NCAA West Prelims.
- Won the javelin throw at the Washington 4A Championships as a senior and took fourth in the discus at the same meet.
- Set the school record in the javelin.
- Finished runner-up in the javelin as a junior and took fifth in 2016 (3A).
- Was a three-time track and field captain and first-time all-league member (2016-18).
- Earned the honor of 2017 Field Athlete of the Year for the NPSL 4A Adams Division.
- Finished high school with a 3.994 GPA and the Washington State Honors Award.
- Received the Clyde Patterson Scholar-Athlete Award and Ed Stricherz Leadership Award both in 2018.
Personal: Connery McLaughlin was born on May 27, 2000 to Lena and Tim McLaughlin . . . He has two sisters’ names Martha and Jane . . . He will study chemical engineering while at Arizona State.
