• Only competed at the 60-meter hurdles during his first season in the maroon & gold
• Crossed the line with a time of 9.02 in the 60m HURDLES during his first meet of the season

High School:

• Competed at the Mt. SAC Relays in high school, placing 2nd in the 1600 sprint medley relay, while also earning 4th in the 110 hurdles and 9th in the 300 hurdles
• Team was League Champions all four years from 2012-15
• Earned Rashede Wheeler Award in 2013
• Academic Excellence in Chemistry in the Community Honors Award in 2014
• High School Bests: 110hh - 14.94, 300IMh - 39.53, 200m - 23.72 (all high school records)

Personal: Son of Nick and Doris, both from Nigeria ... has one younger sister, Chisomeme, and one older brother, Chibuike ... cousin Christian Okoye -- known as the Nigerian Nightmare --- played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1987-92 ... lists going to state championships in the 4x100 relay and getting 39 seconds in the 300 intermediate hurdles as his most exciting moments in sports ... enjoys listening to music, making music, playing the piano and cooking as a few of his hobbies.
