• Finished 19th at the NCAA Championships where his best mark was 64.83m/212-8, earning All-America honorable mention honors.
• Qualified for the NCAA West prelims where he finished seventh overall (66.78m/219-1) to punch his ticket to nationals. 
• Won six-consecutive javelin competitions in 2021 in the run-up to the NCAA West Prelims.
• Set a personal best 71.54m/234'8" in the javelin throw at the Willie Williams Classic/Dave Murray Distance Carnival; mark ranks fifth all-time.

2018-2019 Outdoor

• Competed in seven events as a freshman.
• Placed fifth at the Pac-12 Championships throwing a personal best of 67.57 meters (221’8 feet).

 
High School:

• Team captain and MVP of the Marcos de Nize High School track and field team in 2018.
• Won the javelin and took third in the shot put at the Arizona High School State Championships as a senior.
• Set the state record in the javelin throw with a heave of 204 feet.
• Took seventh in the javelin throw at the 2016 U.S. Junior Championships.
• Wone three U.S. Junior Olympic titles in the javelin and set the meet record in the event for the 13-14-year-old age group.
• Earned the honor of Junior Olympic All-American nine times.
• Had finishes of third and second at the Great Southwest High School Invitational.

 
Personal: Carlan Naisant was born in April 2000 to Marla and Carl Naisant . . . His older brother Marcus is a decathlete at the collegiate level, and he has an older sister named Cara . . .Carlan will pursue a degree in Kinesiology at ASU.
