Arizona State University has signed 21 student-athletes to national letters of intent Wednesday to study and participate in football, head coach Dennis Erickson announced.
Coach Erickson's fifth signing class at ASU provides the Sun Devils with excellent talent on offense, defense and special teams and includes players from the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida and Ohio.
The class consists of 15 freshmen, three sophomores and three juniors.
ASU's Class of 2011 includes:
- Two quarterbacks ranked in the nation's top-10 (Mike Bercovici, No. 7 by PrepStar, Michael Eubank, No. 8 dual-threat quarterback by Rivals.com)
- Five Arizona natives, including the state's top wide receiver (Gary Chambers), top linebacker (Isreal Marshall), second-ranked defensive lineman (Mo Latu), and the nation's top-rated junior college punter (Josh Hubner).
- Three players ranked in the nation's top-10 at their position (Mo Latu, No. 2 center by Rivals.com; Bercovici, No. 7 quarterback by PrepStar; Michael Eubank, No. 8 dual-threat quarterback by Rivals.com).
- Eleven defensive players, nine offensive players and one special teams player.
- Seven offensive and defensive linemen.

Coleman will arrive this summer and will have three years to play three seasons of football for the Sun Devils as he utilized his redshirt season as a true freshman at Fort Scott CC. A versatile and athletic defender, he has the ability to play multiple defensive line positions and also linebacker and will join James Brooks, Jamarr Jarrett and Junior Onyeali to form one of the conference's best defensive ends units. He totaled 65 tackles, 8.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two pass breakups and one interception as a redshirt freshman for Fort Scott in 2010. He graduated from Cleveland's Glenville High School in 2008, where he earned Honorable Mention All-Ohio recognition after his senior season, and is the first ASU signee out of the state of Kansas since former All-Pac-10 member and current Washington Redskins starting running back Ryan Torain out of Butler Community College in 2006. "Davon is a freak athlete who is just as fast as he was strong," says Fort Scott head coach Jeff Sims.
