Player Bio: Demarkus Perkins



ASU: Versatile defensive back that played cornerback and safety at the junior college level...is scheduled to arrive at ASU for fall practices and will have three years to play three for the Sun Devils...likely will play cornerback at ASU and would be one of the Pac-12 Conference's biggest corners...has the ability to immediately compete for time in the defensive secondary.

Junior College: Earned Honorable Mention All-Jayhawk Conference honors in 2010 after totaling 43 tackles, eight pass breakups, four forced fumbles and one interception...played in the same junior college conference as fellow ASU signee Davon Coleman of Fort Scott Community College...tied for third in the conference in pass breakups and rated fifth in the conference in passes defended.

High School: Ran track in high school...other notable Southeast High School football alumni include former NFL receiver Peter Warrick and recent first-round NFL Draft selection Mike Jenkins..."Other schools were showing me a lot of interest but I didn't need to visit anywhere else after being on the campus at Arizona State," Perkins said. "I've been talking to coach (Greg) Burns regularly at ASU and my heart has been set on going there. I loved everything about (ASU)."...chose ASU over Florida International, Indiana, Miami (Fla.) and Minnesota...also was pursued by Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi...coached by Paul Maechtle at Southeast High School and by Mike Beagle at Highland Community College.
