ASU: Former walk-on that worked his way up the depth chart to see ample playing time during his five-year Sun Devil career...appeared in 30 career games with two starts (at California in 2004 and at Washington State in 2005)...totaled 122 carries for 485 yards (4.0 avg.) and three touchdowns...became a reliable special teams player as a senior.
2007: Appeared in 12 games as a senior...finished fourth on the team in rushing, carrying 25 times for 97 yards (3.9 avg.)...added five tackles (three solo) on special teams...carried 13 times for 38 yards against San Jose State in the season opener on Sept. 1...carried five times for 31 yards (6.2 avg.) against San Diego State on Sept. 15...carried two times for 12 yards against No. 11 USC on Thanksgiving night....only game in which he did not see action was against Colorado on Sept. 8.
2006: Appeared in three games (Nevada, Stanford and Washington State)...totaled 12 carries for 44 yards (3.7 avg.) and one touchdown...carried six times for 17 yards against the Cardinal...posted five carries for 29 yards (5.8 avg.) and a one-yard touchdown against the Cougars...also had a season-high 25-yard rush in that game...earned Hard Hat Player recognition for his work in the team's winter strength and conditioning program.
2005: Played in seven games with one start (at Washington State)...was ASU's third-leading rusher, totaling 39 carries for 187 yards (4.8 avg.) and two touchdowns...his yards-per-carry average ranked second behind Keegan Herring among Sun Devil tailbacks...set a career-high with 73 yards on 10 carries, including his first career rushing touchdown in the season opener against Temple on Sept. 1...had a season-high 12 carries for 45 yards and a score against Washington...recorded 10 carries for 44 yards at Stanford...had four carries for 12 yards in his only start of the season at Washington State.
2004: Played in eight games with one start (at California)...had 46 carries for 157 yards (3.4 yards per game)...turned in career bests with 16 carries for 69 yards vs. UCLA...had a long run of 29 yards against the Bruins...added nine carries for 35 yards in the Sun Bowl vs. Purdue.
2003: Redshirted as a member of the scout team.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2003 graduate of East Lansing (Mich.) High School...lettered all four years in football and track, and twice in basketball...a two-time captain of his football team...earned honorable-mention all-state honors in 2001 and 2002...was an All-Capital Area Conference selection in 2001 and 2002...earned Detroit Free Press first-team all-state honors in 2002 and 2003...was a Lansing State Journal Dream Team member in 2002 and 2003...also garnered all-conference honors in 2002 and 2003...was named the East Lansing High Most Valuable Player...rushed for 1,800 career yards and 16 touchdowns...his best individual performances including 26 carries, 250 yards and four touchdowns ...was coached by Jeff Smith.
PERSONAL: Majoring in interdisciplinary studies (business and communication)..parents are Don and Fawn Jones of Okemos, Mich....has two brothers, Brad (21) and Cameron (19), and three sisters, Christa (21), Elizabeth (10) and Corinne (4)...his father played football at the University of Indiana, while his younger brother, Brad, is a junior linebacker at the University of Colorado...was born on Oct. 9, 1984.
