TEMPE – No. 6 Sun Devil Water Polo (14-1) dominated the ASU Invitational, going 6-0 across the weekend. The Sun Devils have gone undefeated in back-to-back home tournaments, with 11 wins in 11 games.
No. 6 Arizona State started the ASU Invitational with a top-10 matchup against No. 10 Fresno State on Friday night and came out with a 13-11 win.
ASU carried that momentum into Saturday, defeating Pacific, 17-5, and Marist, 16-5. Senior attacker Millie Quin led the team in goals on the day, finding the back of the net for six scores. Freshman attacker Iris Vreeling had an impressive performance in the Pacific game, notching a hat trick.
On the final day of the ASU Invitational, the Sun Devils opened up with a dominating win over Cal Lutheran, 20-3. Followed by a 15-10 win over No. 19 SDSU and a 20-9 win over UCSB.
Senior goalkeeper Sanne Keijzer defended the cage throughout the ASU Invitational. The senior racked up 41 saves, including 18 saves against Marist and 17 against No. 19 SDSU. Sophomore goalkeeper Keri Glad had 22 saves on the weekend, notching 10 saves against Cal Lutheran.
