SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sun Devil Wrestling dropped its first action of 2026, 24-14, in a dual against South Dakota State on Friday night at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. 

The brother duo of freshman No. 5 Kyler Larkin (133 lbs.) and redshirt sophomore No. 3 Kaleb Larkin (149 lbs.) led the way for Arizona State as each brother picked up a win by decision to get the Sun Devils off to a quick 6-3 lead. 

Kyler’s record now stands at 11-1, while Kaleb moved to 13-1 on the season. 

Redshirt sophomore No. 13 Nicco Ruiz (165 lbs.) claimed an overtime sudden victory win, as later graduate student No. 20 David Szuba (HWT) added his first technical fall win of the season (20-5 / 6:00) to put the Sun Devils within striking distance at 18-14 in team scoring. 

With 125 lbs. anchoring the contest, junior Damian Moreno suffered a pin to conclude the night’s action.
