Wrestling drops midweek match at #13 Northern Iowa

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Sun Devil Wrestling fell at No. 13 Northern Iowa on Thursday night at the McLeod Center, losing 27-11. 

Arizona State claimed three bouts on the evening, as redshirt sophomore No. 26 Pierson Manville (141 lb.), redshirt sophomore No. 2 Kaleb Larkin (157 lb.) and graduate student No. 19 David Szuba (HWT) each notched wins for the Sun Devils. 

Manville picked up his second win by major decision of the season, while Szuba nabbed his fifth win by MD - his 11th bonus point victory of the season -  to now pace the Sun Devils in both respective categories. 

Additionally, Larkin now moves to 5-0 at the 157-lb. mark after beginning the season at 149 lbs. 

The Sun Devils will conclude their three-match road trip with a dual against Cornell on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1:00 p.m. MST.
