TEMPE – Sun Devil Wrestling will compete in its final event of the 2025 calendar year by heading to Madison for a dual against Wisconsin on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 12:00 pm MST / 1:00 pm CST at Wisconsin Field House. This will be the first road matchup against the Badgers in program history, and the first dual between the teams in 15 years.

Arizona State’s clash with Wisconsin comes in a rather rare midseason matchup. The two sides have only squared off twice before in the illustrious history of each respective program. The all-time series stands at 1-1, with both duals coming at neutral sites. The first matchup dates back all the way to 1988, while the most recent was in 2010.

This will be the first true road dual for the Sun Devils (0-3, 0-1 Big 12) this season after competing at the National Duals Invitational and playing host to Oklahoma State. The Badgers (5-0, 0-0 Big Ten) are set for a tri-meet alongside Lock Haven and Utah Valley before welcoming the Sun Devils to town.

The match will be available to stream via Big Ten+. Live updates will be provided on Track Wrestling and the team’s official X account, ASUWrestling.

Last time out
The Sun Devils turned in a solid showing at the annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational with five different wrestlers placing within the top-five of their respective weight classes. The five individual placements were the most individual placements at the CKLV in program history dating back to 2010.

Redshirt sophomore Nicco Ruiz (165-lb) and freshman Kyler Larkin (133-lb) each landed in second place, with Larkin’s championship hopes sidelined due to a medical forfeit. Redshirt sophomore Kaleb Larkin (149-lb) claimed third, while graduate students David Szuba (HWT) and Chance McLane (157-lb) earned fourth and fifth place in their respective brackets.

In team scoring, ASU took fifth place with 92 points. It was the highest finish for the Sun Devils since taking third in 2019 with 103 points. ASU has now placed within the top-five of team scoring at the CKLV five times under head coach Zeke Jones since 2014.

By the Numbers

6: Junior Damian Moreno earned the highest ranked win of his career by defeating then-No.6 Brady Roark (South Dakota State) by MD 12-4.

7: The Sun Devils boast a season-high seven wrestlers featured in FloWrestling’s national rankings.
