Quotes:
Head Coach Bob Bowman
On Zalan Sarkany's school record:
"It's great, that was a significant time. He's made a lot of improvements and he's been training really hard, so he should have a lot more to go."
On what separates Léon Marchand from other swimmers:
"I think it's just his work ethic, he's very detailed oriented. He works hard on a daily basis and comes in everyday and tries to raise his standards."

Junior Léon Marchand
On as a whole how he felt about the performance:
I think everyone was kind of tired. We just sit for a few weeks really hard of the training. We didn't have school, I think we got to really pushing it a bit more, but it was really fun. That was the goal of my teammates and I really, so it was pretty good."

On individual performances:
"I was pretty sick last semester. I didn't do that well swimming wise. So it was like the first good swim meet for me, the times are different. It was a good practice because they did like to get you free, like five minutes after the rest. I won both so it was nice. I was very happy to raise it."
On noticing an increased presence being the last home before the Olympics:
"Yeah, it was pretty fun, people showed up today. I'm just happy to be here. Always nice to race in that the sun was there. It was kind of cold this morning, but it got better in two hours."

Senior Lindsay Looney
On challenges ahead to the rest of the schedule:
"It will be a little challenging just because this is the last home meet of the year and it's January. So just knowing that we won't be back here again and for the rest of the season until we're done. Stanford and CAL are always pretty cold there. So luckily we kind of got to get a little bit used to the cold here. We have this week to kind of prepare and know that we need hot hands in our pockets to keep us warm. But we've all done it before, where the older class can help the freshmen figure out how to stay prepared and keep it going. So I'm really just excited for the rest of the season and kind of supporting the team and seeing where we can all go. I think this is the best year yet that I've been on the team and I think we have a lot of promise to move forward.

On what separates this group from the previous groups:
"I think we're all really kind of a combined unit. This year, we all support each other more than we ever have the men and the women both. We have a lot of high level athletes coming in. Even previously before this year, we've had high level athletes, but the sprint group has gotten tremendously better. It's incredible to see their progress too and just kind of watching every single group get better this year has been the best gift since I've been on the team."

Sophomore Zalan Sarkany
On how he felt about his performance and the team:
"I think the team did a really great job. I think my mile was pretty good. I had a 500 which was pretty tiring after a mile. I broke a school record, broke my own record, with BB in the 500 too. For me, it was just a great race. I haven't seen a short course yard for a while now. Had great feedback after seeing the AC for the Olympics that I still can do this yard thing. The team did an awesome job today. Oliver Springs did a really great job. That was my first time swimming in a relay at ASU so it was an experience. It was really good."

On breaking a record:
"It doesn't feel like it, but I did. Last year it was a whole other experience because I didn't have the record, but now I did my own, and did break my own record. So it was just a PD for me, it's not like that. But I know what it's like, because it should have been a great time in NC. I'm looking forward to seeing the mile again and the backs and MC later this year."
