TUCSON, Ariz. – Make it eight straight! No. 20 Sun Devil Gymnastics took the lead after the first rotation and never looked back as they scored a 196.850 en route to their eighth-consecutive dual-meet win over No. 17 Arizona on Thursday night at the McKale Center.

Notable Stats
  • Arizona State (5-4, 2-2 Pac-12) earned their second conference win of the season, this time in a meet with in-state rival Arizona (5-3, 1-3 Pac-12) where the Gym Devils led from start to finish.
  • This was the second win over a ranked opponent this season for Arizona State (also then-No. 25 Southern Utah).
  • With the victory, the Gym Devils won a point in the Territorial Cup Series, their eighth in a row. Head coach Jay Santos has not lost to the Cats.
  • This was the fourth meet in a row with the Gym Devils scoring a 49-plus in each event. Additionally, the vault rotation adds on to their 17-meet streak of scoring a 49 or higher, a program-long streak.
  • Senior Jada Mangahas won her third all-around title with a score of 39.225. She had at least a 9.800 on all four events.
  • Alex Theodorou and Anaya Smith tied for the vault event title this evening, each scoring a 9.900. The score for Theodorou was a season high, and Smith's score marked the fifth meet scoring a 9.9 or better on vault this season.
  • Another event title came on floor where Hannah Scharf and Emily White both tied for first with a 9.900.
  • Graduate Hannah Scharf competed in the all-around for the second time this season. She had a 9.900 on floor along with a 9.825 on beam and a 9.800 on bars.
  • Senior Emily White had another solid meet for the Gym Devils, scoring a 9.875 on beam and a 9.900 on floor. Her floor score matches her season high.
  • Freshman Halle Gregoire had a 9.850 on vault and floor in her first meet against the Cats. Her 9.850 on floor matches her career high.

Rotation One: Bars, 49.000
The Gym Devils continued their 16-meet streak of 49 or higher on bars, highlighted by a 9.850 from Sarah Clark in the anchor spot. Scharf and Mangahas each had 9.800s for Arizona State.

Rotation Two: Vault, 49.350
Theodorou and Anaya Smith each had 9.900s for the Gym Devils. The 9.900 for Theodorou was a season-high in this event. Gracie Reeves had a 9.875, Gregoire with a 9.850 and Mangahas in the leadoff spot with a 9.825.

Rotation Three: Floor, 49.275
White and Scharf each had 9.900s to lead this event, the score matching White's season high. Gregoire matched her career high with a 9.850 followed by a 9.825 from Smith and a 9.800 from Mangahas.

Rotation Four: Beam, 49.225
Kayla Lee started off the final rotation strong, scoring a 9.875. Mangahas then had a 9.800, followed by a 9.850 from Clark and 9.825 from Scharf. White ended the meet with a score of 9.875.
