  • Each sport will be worth one (1) point.
  • The point is awarded to the team that wins a season series.
    1. If the teams play once in a given season (football and soccer) then that game counts as one point.
    2. For baseball and softball, all regular season games count towards season series tally, including the non-conference games and postseason matchups.
    3. For cross country, golf, and track and field only, one point is awarded to whichever team finishes higher in the Big-12 Championship.
  • If teams split the regular season match-ups, then each team receives a half-point for that sport.
  • In the event of a tie the following tie-breaker will be used: University with higher finish in the Directors' Cup Standings.
    1. In the event of a tie after the Directors' Cup Standings are used the TCS will end in a tie.

MAKE IT EIGHT; VOLLEYBALL WINS AT ARIZONA/OCT. 24, 2024

(ASU EARNS HALF POINT, ASU LEADS 1-0)
Winning its fourth rivalry match in a row, No. 13 Sun Devil Volleyball went down south to the McKale Center and beat Arizona in four sets (25-23, 15-25, 25-19, 25-15). This is the second year in the row the Sun Devils have had a 20-win season, the 13th time in program history and fourth time this century. Only two other times has ASU had consecutive 20-win seasons (1992-93, 1985-86). Senior outside hitter Geli Cyr extended her double-double streak to six in a row after notching a team-high 14 kills and 11 digs. Her 14 kills tonight marks the 16th double digit kills in a match this season. The streak of six matches in a row with double-digit careers is the longest such streak of her career. She also had two aces. Graduate setter Argentina Ung added on another double-double stat line to reach nine double-doubles this season thus far with 38 assists and 13 digs. She has reached 38 or more assists in a match five times this season. Additionally, she earned a new season high in kills with eight and served up a game-high three aces.

SUN DEVILS UNABLE TO FIND EQUALIZER AGAINST ARIZONA/OCT. 25, 2024
(ARIZONA EARNS ONE POINT, STANDINGS TIED 1-1)

Sun Devil Soccer closed out the regular season with a 1-0 loss to Arizona In Territorial Cup action at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium. Arizona State (8-7-3, 3-7-1 Big 12) conceded the game's only goal in the 11th minute as a shot from Arizona's (11-5-2, 6-4-1) Nicole Dallin was saved by Pauline Nelles, but the rebound found Narissa Fults who finished for the Wildcats. ASU nearly tied the game in the 18th minute as Cameron Valladares put a shot off the cross bar and then in the 29th minute, Kierra Blundell headed a cross from Lucy Johnson on net that was turned away by the visiting keeper. The Sun Devils continued to apply pressure in the second half, with two chances from Enasia Colon just missing early in the half. Blundell added another attempt from distance late in the game but was denied again.

MEN'S HOOPS CAN'T MOUNT COMEBACK AGAINST CATS
(ARIZONA EARNS HALF POINT, ARIZONA LEADS 4.5-3)

Sun Devil Men's Basketball (12-9, 3-7) made their return to the Valley to take on in-state rival Arizona (15-6, 9-1) at Desert Financial Arena in the first of two meetings this season. The two sides gave State 48 residents a highly entertaining Saturday afternoon in a closely contest duel from wire-to-wire. The largest lead for either team never eclipsed double digits, keeping each possession equally important and intense. Arizona State stepped up to match Arizona's offense firepower, building as much as a five-point lead in the opening stages of the second half. BJ Freeman and Adam Miller fueled the efforts on the offensive side of things, keeping ASU right in the thick of it. The performances of the two seniors turned out to not be enough as the Sun Devils fell short, falling 81-72.

WBB GIVES INSPIRED EFFORT IN LOSS AT ARIZONA
(ARIZONA EARNS HALF POINT, ARIZONA LEADS 5-3)

Given it was short-handed because of injuries. Given it was on the road in a hostile environment – the kind of atmosphere reserved only for rivalry games – the Sun Devil women's basketball team was not supposed to be in a tie game with Arizona one minute into the fourth quarter. Before the game, the scenario seemed difficult to imagine. Not because the Sun Devils were not capable of winning the game. Despite their record, they have proven time and again they can play with any team when they are firing on all cylinders. Unfortunately for the banged-up Sun Devils they came into the game missing usual starters Jazion Jackson and Kennedy Fauntleroy and a third player, key reserve Makayla Moore who was not expected to play. And yet, after Jyah LoVett's 3-pointer – ASU's third triple in less than a minute of game time – the Sun Devils found themselves in a tie game, 44-44, in the early stages of the fourth quarter. In the end, ASU's gallant effort was not enough. Due in large part to a 9-0 run that started after LoVett tied the game, the Wildcats were able to come away with a 66-59 win on Saturday.

TRIPLE-DIGIT OFFENSIVE OUTPUT NOT ENOUGH FOR MBB
(ARIZONA EARNS HALF POINT, ARIZONA LEADS 6-5)

The Sun Devil men's basketball team – down to a six-man rotation after a first minute injury to Adam Miller – fell at Arizona 113-100 to a hot-shooting Wildcat team that didn't commit a turnover in the first half. ASU cut the lead to 89-86, but a quick 6-0 spurt put Arizona up 95-86 with just under five minutes left. The Sun Devils took a 16-15 lead seven minutes in behind Amier Ali's early six points off the bench, but Arizona shot .568 (21-of-37) from the field to lead 55-47 at the break, despite Alston Mason's 15 first-half points. Mason had another solid outing, notching a season-high 33 points while adding six assists. He was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line and an impressive 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. It is the most points scored by a Sun Devil since Alonzo Verge had 43 against Saint Mary's on Dec. 18, 2019.
