The four-day meet will commence on Wednesday afternoon with the Men's 1-meter final at 1:00 p.m. MST.
The first swimming events of the championship will also be held on Wednesday, beginning with the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay at 7:00 p.m. MST.
At last year's Pac-12 Championships, the Sun Devil Women placed sixth in the team standings. Only two divers represented the Sun Devils last season – Zachory Lundgren and Thomas Wesche – but a total of six will compete this week.
SUN DEVIL NOTABLES
- For the first time this season, the Sun Devil Women have earned a national ranking. They checked into the latest CSCAA team polls tied for No. 25 in the country, fresh off a pair of wins against two tough conference opponents (No. 11 Cal/Arizona) to close out the regular season.
- Lundgren and Wesche aren't the only representatives for Sun Devil Dive this time around at the Pac-12 Championships. This year, they'll be joined alongside Amayah Wiley, Ashlyn Kirsch, Lane Stallworth and Caleb Liban, four who made immediate impacts on head coach Marc Briggs' program this season.
- Throughout the 2022-23 season, the Sun Devil Women have been powered by a young core that has only strengthened by the day. Ieva Maluka, Charli Brown, Iza Adame, Katherine Randall and Emma Gehlert – all underclassmen – have had their fingerprints all over the team's second-half surge.
- Lindsay Looney and Jadé Foelske were terrific at last spring's Pac-12 Championships, as Looney had three top-15 finishes (4th/200fly, 7th/400 IM and 15th/500 free) and Foelske had two top-10 finishes (5th/200 fly and 10th/100 fly). Both will be contenders in each of the butterfly events this week.
- Last time out: The last time the Sun Devils were in action, they were toppling in-state rival Arizona. The Sun Devils swept the Wildcats, as the margin of victory by both the Men and Women was the largest over Arizona since at least 1998.
- There have been four individual Women's Pac-12 Champions in the Bob Bowman era. The most recent was Erica Laning last spring, when she won the 500 free.
