There weren't many fans.
Only one home football game was played.
The basketball seasons started late, soccer and volleyball were in the spring.
At the end of it all, ASU hosted two NCAA championships for 14 days where mask wearing was optional and there was free admission.
All this happened while the hockey team never played a home game.
While the number of fans and teams visiting was naturally down from last year, there was still a lot of action happening on campus or nearby.
Here is a look at some of the numbers of various sports and events hosted by Arizona State this past year, along with a calendar of every home event Sun Devil athletics helped manage and produce.
0: That is the amount of games hockey hosted in 2020-21. Things get back to normal in 2021-22.
2: The wrestling team hosted only two matches in 2020-21, but this season it hosts the Pac-12 Championships the first weekend in March.
6: Pac-12 Coach of the Year Tim McCormack led the lacrosse team to a 6-2 home record.
16: The Sun Devil men's golf program hosted 16 schools at its 48th Thunderbird Collegiate on April 16-17, 2021, at Papago Golf Course. Pac-12 members Arizona, Oregon State, UCLA and Utah were there along with Baylor, Colorado State, Iowa State, Long Beach State, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, South Florida, Texas Tech, TCU and UNLV complete the 17-team field.

25: The tennis programs hosted 25 home matches, as the men hosted 14 and the women 11.
30: Water polo hosted 30 total matches, incuding eight neutral site ones and also was the host for the MPSF Championships. The sport has its welcome sign on for the past six seasons, hosting more than 150 matches since 2016.

302: More than 300 student-athletes competed at Grayhawk Golf Course from May 20-June 2 for the NCAA Championships, and those same championships will be held in both 2022 and 2023.
10,140: Everyone knows the 2020-21 hit the Sun Devil men's basketball program hard in terms of momentum. In addition to a third straight NCAA Tournament appearance getting canceled in 2020 -- which would have been a first for the program since the early 1960s -- the Sun Devil had turned the corner on attendance. Desert Financial Arena had averaged 10,140 fans in the past three years starting with the 2017-18 season, with 496,872 fans attending 49 Sun Devil home games, as ASU racked up a 39-10 record. In the three previous seasons in 51 home games ASU averaged 6,087 fans (310,459).
