FOOTBALL ASU 31, #6 OREGON 28 (NOV. 23, 2019)
The Oregon Ducks entered Tempe in late November 2019 expecting to make their case for earning a spot in the college football playoff, as their No. 6 ranking had them on the cusp of snatching that fourth and final playoff spot. But Herm Edwards and the Sun Devils clearly had other plans.
Both teams exchanged passing touchdowns in the first quarter, with Frank Darby hauling in a 57-yard pass from Jayden Daniels. Christian Zendejas would add two field goals in the second and third quarters to give Arizona State a 13-7 lead going into the fourth quarter. However, the fourth quarter turned into a shootout, with the freshman Daniels going toe-to-toe with a potential first-round NFL draft pick in Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert. In the opening minutes of the quarter, Daniels would find Frank Darby for a 26-yard score, before also connecting with running back Eno Benjamin to give the Sun Devils a 21-7 lead.
Oregon would come storming back with a 10-yard touchdown run from Cyrus Habibi-Likio, his second rushing score of the game, and a 24-yard touchdown throw from Herbert to Johnny Johnson III. With ASU holding a narrow 24-21 lead and less than four minutes remaining in the game, Daniels connected with receiver Brandon Aiyuk for an 81-yard touchdown on a third and long that would put the game on ice. Herbert would find Johnson III in the final minutes for a late touchdown, but ASU would secure the huge upset win over the Ducks, dashing any playoff hopes that the team had. Daniels finished the game with an impressive line of 408 passing yards and three touchdowns, providing coach Herm Edwards and the Devils with their signature win of the 2019 season.
FOOTBALL: ASU 41, @ARIZONA 40 (NOV. 24, 2018)
In the first Territorial Cup game with Herm Edwards as head coach, the Arizona Wildcats invited the Sun Devils into Tucson and dominated the game for the first three quarters. ASU would score a touchdown in each of the first three quarters, including two rushing scores from Eno Benjamin, but the Wildcat offense and special teams would overwhelm the Sun Devils quickly. Josh Pollack nailed four field goals in the first three quarters, the defense would secure a safety in the opening minutes of the second half, and Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate tossed three touchdown passes to put the Wildcats up 40-21 after three frames.
But after being dominated for the entire game, the ASU offense would explode to put the team back in the game. Brandon Ruiz added a pair of field goals for the Devils, but the rushing offense would finally come alive in the final frame, with quarterback Manny Wilkins taking the ball himself for the 11-yard score. Eno Benjamin added another 22-yard rushing score with just over three minutes left, giving Arizona State their first lead of the evening. The ASU defense, after getting pummeled for 40 points in the first three quarters, pitched a shutout in the final frame. They held onto a one point lead for the final three minutes, securing a huge comeback win and the first Territorial Cup for coach Herm Edwards.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: ASU 66, #22 ARIZONA 65 (JAN. 25, 2020)
The No. 22 Arizona Wildcats entered Tempe on January 25 with a certain amount of confidence after the meeting between the two squads just a few weeks prior. The Wildcats beat the Sun Devils 75-47, in the first game of the new year for both teams, and that carried over to the rematch between the two in Tempe. Arizona built a 37-15 lead in the first half behind seven turnovers by ASU and six three-pointers from the Wildcats, including three from freshman Nico Mannion. It looked like the Wildcats may once again run away with the game very early, but the Devils went on a 15-6 run to slowly get back into the game before halftime.
Remy Martin would explode out of the break, scoring the first three baskets of the half to lead ASU on a 16-4 run to cut the deficit to a single point with about 13 minutes remaining. The Wildcats would continue to score to attempt to widen their lead, but the Devils answered nearly every bucket with one of their own. With a little over a minute in the half, Arizona was trying to preserve its 65-64 lead when they committed a costly turnover. A few empty possessions later, ASU had the ball with only 33 seconds left, and it was standout junior Alonzo Verge Jr. who took the game into his own hands. He attacked the lane and scored the game-winning basket to complete the comeback against the Wildcats, scoring 13 points in the contest while Remy Martin finished with 24 points. The comeback gave Arizona State and coach Bobby Hurley with one of their more memorable wins in what would unfortunately become a shortened season.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: ARIZONA STATE 72, #1 KANSAS 68 (DEC. 23, 2018)
In five seasons as coach of the Sun Devils, coach Bobby Hurley likely does not have a more memorable win than his team's slaying of the giant that was and still is the Kansas Jayhawks. In December 2018, the Jayhawks owned a perfect 10-0 record to start the season and the No. 1 ranking in the country, and they took their perfect record to Tempe, Arizona for a dual against the 8-2 Sun Devils. Kansas started the game off strong, holding nearly a ten-point lead for long stretches of the first half. Forward Dedric Lawson led the way for the Jawhawks with 30 points in the contest. ASU would continue to fight back, however, ending the half with only an eight-point deficit.
The Sun Devils would come out strong in the second half, trimming the lead and staying with the Jayhawks as they continued to rack up points. The Devils would finally take the lead in the final minutes with a pull-up triple from Rob Edwards, only for Kansas to tie it back up at 76 with a minute left. Remy Martin would then take the next possession and run to the top of the key, nailing the pull-up jumper to give Arizona State a lead that they would not relinquish. A Kansas turnover with less than 10 seconds left would allow the Devils to clinch the game, giving the Sun Devils one of the biggest wins in the history of the program.
