TEMPE, Ariz. – No. 14 Arizona State gymnastics is home for the first time in 2020 to host the defending national champions, No. 1 Oklahoma, this Saturday, January 11, in Desert Financial Arena.
 
Arizona State (2-1) made a splash at the Collegiate Challenge last weekend, taking second place with just two returners who have competed before. The Gym Devils beat out two preseason top-25 teams in No. 13 Auburn and No. 25 Penn State.
 
Seven Gym Devils made their collegiate debuts in the meet: Juliette Boyer, Alina Miller, Gracie Reeves, Isabel Redmond, Hannah Scharf, Megan Thompson and Maya Williams. Of the 24 routines, 18 routines were done by gymnasts making their debut. The top scores came from Jessica Ginn and Scharf who scored 9.850s on floor and vault, respectively.
 
Saturday's home opener will begin at 4:30 p.m. MST. It will be televised live on ESPNU, along with live scoring at this link. The meet is the Cystic Fibrosis and alumni meet. The first 200 fans will receive a free Cystic Fibrosis shirt. For fans attending the meet, head to this website for road closure information.

Opponent Outlook
No. 1 Oklahoma (3-0)
  • For the third season in a row, ASU is facing Oklahoma while the Sooners are ranked No. 1. Last season, Oklahoma won the Perfect 10 Challenge while Arizona State took third.
  • In the first meet of the season, the Sooners won the second session of the Collegiate Challenge with a 197.350, the best score of the season so far. Senior Maggie Nichols won the bars title with a 9.975, while junior Anastasia Webb tied for the vault title with a 9.900.
