Some numbers, tweets, links and names with the academic accomplishments of Sun Devil Athletics in the 2018-19 athletic season.

1 -  Heather Udowitch was awarded an NCAA Women's Enhancement Graduate Scholarship, as given by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics.

2 - Senior Anne Kuhm was named the Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year, becoming just the second Gym Devil in program history to receive the honor.

2 - The duo of Tim Ruehl and Andrea Bolla of Sun Devil Men's Tennis were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team. Ruehl, who is in his second year studying Sports Business at the W.P. Carey School of Business, currently holds a team-high 3.89 GPA. The German has earned Dean's List in every semester at ASU and scholar-baller honors en route to his first-team selection this season. Bolla represented the Sun Devils on the second-team, majoring in Spanish with a 3.63 GPA.

2 - A pair of individuals from the Sun Devil Women's Golf team received Pac-12 All-Academic honors. Two Sun Devils who were eligible for selection earned recognition, with Olivia Mehaffey landing on the Second Team as well as Raquel Olmos receiving Honorable Mention honors.

3 - Three wrestlers were named to the Pac-12 Wrestling All-Academic teams. Graduate student Christian Pagdilao was named to the First Team while Josh Shields and Austyn Harris were named to the Second Team.

3 - Three Sun Devils (Anne Kuhm, Hunter Bishop and Grant House)were recognized by CoSIDA as Academic All-Americans.

3.24 - The average cumulative GPA for all student-athletes is at an all-time high of 3.24, passing the 3.2 mark for the first time.

4 - Women's basketball Jamie Ruden was named to the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District® VIII Second Team for the second straight year after maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. 

4 - Among the 18 swimmers and divers that made the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, four Sun Devils earned these honors with a 3.99 GPA or higher.

5 - Five women's teams achieve a semester and cumulative GPA at or above a 3.5 for the Fall 2018 semester (Triathlon, Golf, Tennis, Gymnastics, and Beach Volleyball).

5 - For the fifth consecutive year, the Arizona State University athletics department is second in the Pac-12 Conference for most teams recognized by the NCAA for their high 2017-18 Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores.

5 - Five Sun Devil women's tennis players earned academic all-Pac-12 honors with two receiving a first-team nod for their success in the classroom. Junior All-American Ilze Hattingh added another honor to her growing list of 2019 accolades as she landed on the all-academic first-team. Savannah Slaysman also landed on the top list for her academic achievements. Beyond the first-team list, Lauryn John-Baptiste received a second-team nod, and  Sammi Hampton and Tereza Kolarova both made the honorable mention team.

5 - Five Sun Devil water polo players were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's All-Academic Team for the 2019 women's water polo season. Seniors P.J. AllinRosie Huck and Maud Koopman were joined on the team by junior Bente Rogge and sophomore Amira Van Buren.

6 - Six players from the Arizona State volleyball team received Pac-12 All-Academic Honors. Halle Johnson was named to the first team while Callie Jones, Courtney Leffel, Carmen Unzue, Ivana Jeremicand Nicole Peterson received honorable mentions.

6 - Six women teams achieving a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 (Triathalon, Golf, Tennis, Gymnastics, Beach Volleyball, and Soccer).

6 - Six players from the Sun Devil Baseball team were placed on the Pac-12 All-Academic teams. Hunter Bishop was named to the second team. Brady Corrigan, Alec Marsh, Spencer Torkelson, Alika Williams and Gage Workman were honorable mentions.

7 - Seven of the men's teams posted a cumulative GPA above a 3.0 for the Fall 2018 semester (Cross Country, Track, Ice Hockey, Golf, Tennis, Swimming & Diving and Basketball).

7 - Seven Arizona State softball players were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic teams. Senior Morgan Howe led the way for the Sun Devils, earning a First Team Honor while junior Jade Gortarez and sophomore Bella Loomis garnered Second Tem recognition. DeNae ChatmanMaddi HackbarthSkylar McCarty and Alli Tatnall rounded out the seven selections for ASU, earning Honorable Mention honors.

7 - A program-record seven student-athletes on the Arizona State beach volleyball team received Pac-12 All-Academic honors, including three on the first team. Among the seven Sand Devils recognized, Katie CrossEllyson Lundberg and Samantha Plaster are on the first team, Cierra Flood is on the second and Kate BaldwinKatelyn Carballo and Oluoma Okaro are on the honorable mention list.

8 - Anne Kuhm was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 Women's At-Large Team, as selected by CoSIDA. Earlier this year, Kuhm was named the Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year, as well as earning Pac-12 All-Academic Fist Team honors. She is also a 2018 WCGA Scholastic All-American.

8 - Eight ASU teams earned APR scores in the top-10 percent. This is the most teams recognized in the top 10 percent for APR in ASU history.

9 - Sun Devil men's tennis senior Justin Roberts was granted the Southwest region Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association after being the only senior on a nine-man roster this season.

10 - Sun Devil Football had 10 players earn Pac-12 Football All-Academic Honors. For a third consecutive year, running back Nick Ralston earned First Team All-Academic Honors. Wide receiver Kyle Williams was named to the Second Team. Eight other players, Eno Benjamin, Michael Sleep-Dalton, Josh Pokraka, Cody French, Malik Lawal, Brandon Ruiz, Riley John and Jordan Hoyt earned honorable mentions.

11 - Both Sun Devil Swimming and Diving teams earned their 11th consecutive College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-American honor.

14 - All 14 of the women's teams had a semester and cumulative GPA above 3.00 for the Fall 2018 semester.

14 - For the 14th consecutive semester, Sun Devils have finished with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.???????

15 - 15 members of the Sun Devil Women's Lacrosse team were recognized academically by the Pac-12 conference. Defender Rachel Gregory and midfielder Maria Villanti were two of 12 individuals named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team. Midfielder Kylie Kroeger earned a spot on the All-Academic Second Team. 12 additional Sun Devils received honorable mentions.

18 - Between three teams, 18 Sun Devils made the Pac-12 2019 All-Academic team for swimming and diving. 

21 - Sun Devil Athletics had 21 student-athletes graduate in the Fall 2018 semester. One graduated from Barrett Honors College, two returned to complete their degree, four graduated in less than four years, and five graduated with honors. 12 football graduates led the way followed by two from soccer, two from wrestling and one apiece from baseball, women's golf, swimming & diving, track & field, and triathlon. Among those graduating with honors, four are Summa Cum Laude – Noor Almusahwi (wrestling), Heikki Makikallio (men's diving), Jemma Purfield (soccer), and Roberta Liti (women's golf) and one Magna Cum Laude – Katie Gorczyca (women's triathlon).

23 - Since the 1996-97 season, Sun Devil WBB head coach Charli Turner Thorne's first season at ASU, the Sun Devils lead the Pac-12 with 23 first-team All-Academic conference awards.

40 - A total of 40 student-athletes graduate with honors, including 13 Summa Cum Laude (3.80 to 4.00 GPA), 13 Magna Cum Laude (3.60 to 3.79 GPA), and 14 Cum Laude (3.40 to 3.59 GPA).

71 - Percent of student-athletes that earned above a 3.0 GPA for the Fall 2018 semester.

77 - A record-setting 77% of ASU student-athletes earned Scholar Baller/Scholar Athlete distinction, awarded to those who boast a semester or cumulative GPA above a 3.0.

88 - Sun Devil Athletics set a new all-time high 88 percent Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for its student-athletes, a mark set last year. Seven teams posted GSR scores at 100 percent – men's basketball, women's track/cross country, gymnastics, women's swimming/diving, softball, women's tennis, and water polo. Wrestling improved 12 percent from last year to this year.

94 - Baseball maintained its all-time high for GSR (94 percent) set last year.

100 - Men's basketball set an all-time high for the third consecutive season in GSR (100 percent), up from 93 percent a year ago, achieving 100 percent for the first time.

119 - A total of 119 Sun Devil student-athletes receive their degrees in 2018-19. 21 in the fall, 76 in spring and 22 in summer.

126 - Arizona State gymnastics graduate Corinne Belkoff has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship out of the 126 awarded annually for her strong career in both the gym and the classroom. She earned Pac-12 All-Academic First Team honors in both 2017 and 2019. She was also a NACGC/WCGA Scholastic All-American in 2017 and 2018. She graduated in the spring Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA from Barrett The Honors College and part of the Tip of the Fork cohort. In the fall, she will attend the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
