TEMPE, Ariz. – Nine Arizona State water polo student-athletes earned recognition from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) on Tuesday, as the organization announced its 2019 Women's All-Academic List.
 
Eligible student-athletes were assigned an Outstanding (4.0-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41) or Excellent (3.40-3.20)distinction based on their GPA.
 
Leading the way for head coach Todd Clapper's squad were seniors P.J. Allin, Rosie Huck and Maud Koopman, who were honored in the Outstanding category for the fourth consecutive year.
 
Joining the senior trio in being recognized a fourth time was redshirt junior Catherine Simko, who earned Superior recognition. 
 
Also earning Superior honors were junior Bente Rogge (third time named to the list), sophomore Meghan Beaudet and freshman Blaire McDowell.
 
Sophomores Belen Ehinger and Layla Waters joined the ranks of Sun Devils who have been named on the list multiple times after both players earned 'Excellent' distinction for their work in the classroom.
 
In addition to the individual awards, ASU was also one of 57 schools that garnered Team All-Academic recognition from the ACWPC after posting a team GPA of 3.30.

To be eligible for consideration on the ACWPC's All-Academic List, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a grade point average (GPA) in excess of 3.20. Teams must achieve a 3.0 GPA to garner honors.
 
The Sun Devils concluded the 2019 season ranked No. 10 in the country after compiling a 14-12 record. Among their 14 wins were 10 wins over CWPA Top 25 teams, including a 7-5 triumph over No. 7 UCSB in February. ASU won its last two matches in the MPSF tournament to finish in fifth place. Koopman and Rogge were both selected to the All-MPSF second team (second straight season for Rogge) while freshman Lieke Rogge was named to the All-MPSF Newcomer Team. Koopman concluded her Sun Devil career in fourth place on ASU's all-time list for career goals with 180.
