MEN'S BASKETBALL (BOBBY HURLEY/FOURTH SEASON/HIRED APRIL 9, 2015): Team finished 23-11 and 12-6 in the Pac-12, good enough for second in the league after being picked sixth in the preseason media poll…defeated No. 1 Kansas on Dec. 22, the first win over No. 1 at home in program history and the second all-time (also won at Oregon State in March of 1981)…notched its first NCAA Tournament win since 2009 with a 74-65 victory over St. John's on March 20 in Dayton…posted 23 wins for just the eighth time in school history, and was a resilient bunch, as it was 9-1 after a loss, losing two straight just once…prior to its past two appearances under Bobby Hurley, ASU had made the NCAA Tournament three times in the previous 22 seasons (1996-2017)…has averaged 80.04 points per game the past two seasons, tops in the Pac-12…had been to four NCAA Tournaments (1995, 2003, 2009 and 2014) in 26 seasons (1992-2017), yet five Sun Devils who saw the floor in the 2019 NCAA Tournament – Remy Martin, Romello White, Vitaliy Shibel, Kimani Lawrence and De'Quon Lake – played in the NCAA Tournament in each of the past two seasons…had not made March Madness in back-to-back years since 1980-81, as four years after hiring Bobby Hurley, ASU is the only Pac-12 school to make the NCAAs the last two seasons…defeated five teams that would play in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, as it beat Mississippi State, Utah State, Kansas, Oregon and Washington…5-4 Pac-12 road mark, just ASU's sixth winning road record since it joined the Pac-10 in 1978-79…Zylan Cheatham became the seventh Sun Devil to earn Pac-12 All-Tournament honors and led the league in rebounding…team finished second in the Pac-12 for just the fourth time in its 41-year Pac-10/12 history, as it also finished second in 2009-10, 1980-81 and 1979-80…won 12 loop games for just the sixth time…Luguentz Dort earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, second-team All-Pac-12 and All-Defense…Zylan Cheatham earned first-team honors and All-Defense and Remy Martin earned second-team All-Pac-12 in a vote of the league's coaches…Dort joined Jahii Carson (Co-Freshman of the Year in 2012-13), Ike Diogu (2002-03), Jamal Faulkner (1990-91) and Byron Scott (1979-80) as Sun Devils to win FOY…last year ASU averaged a school-record 10,603 fans, as the 4,103 extra bodies from 2016-17 to 2017-18 was the second-best increase in all of college hoops. This year 168,602 entered "The Bank" -- the nickname student broadcaster Braiden Bell tagged Wells Fargo Arena last year -- an average of 10,538, second-best in school history…ASU had two-game sweeps of Arizona (first since 2008-09), Oregon State (first since 2009-10) and Cal (second straight)…Cheatham had 22 rebounds (seven in overtime) vs. Arizona on Jan. 31, the most in Pac-12 game in the past 19 seasons and the most since Dave Bluthenthal grabbed 28 vs. Arizona State on Jan. 20, 2000 He is just the second Pac-10/12 player to notch two 20-rebound league games since UA/ASU joined the Pac-10 back in the summer of 1978…Rob Edwards (Dec. 24), Remy Martin (Dec. 17), Zylan Cheatham (Dec. 3) and Luguentz Dort (Nov. 26) all earned Pac-12 Player of the Week…ASU now has six wins vs. ranked teams in Coach Hurley's four seasons…started 7-0 for the second time in the past 38 seasons -- but for the second year in a row. ASU had not been 7-0 since 1980-81 (Byron Scott and Fat Lever) but has done it in the past two seasons…beat No. 15 Mississippi State on Nov. 19 and Utah State on Nov. 21 to win the 2018 MGM Resorts Main Event at T-Mobile Arena

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY (JEREMY RASMUSSEN / SECOND SEASON / HIRED JULY 19, 2017)
Daan Haven led the way for the Sun Devil women as she finished as ASU's No. 1 in four meets with Alexis Nichols taking the top place twice...earned the Territorial Cup Series point when they finished ninth at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships...best finish came at the season-opener in Fullerton as Coach Rasmussen's squad finished third overall in the 5K race with the familiar top-three of Haven, Nichols and Samantha Ortega up front.
MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY (CORY LESLIE / FIRST YEAR / HIRED SEPT. 1, 2017)
In Cory Leslie's first year at the helm of the Sun Devil men's team, ASU ended the season ranked in the region after surpassing expectations and finishing 14th in one of the toughest regions in the nation...young squad was carried through most of the season by US Junior champion Jackson Lewis and senior captain John Reniewicki until transfers Fearghal Curtin and Garrett O'Toole stepped in and helped the Devils through the postseason...while the Devils lost the T-Cup Series point at the Pac-12 Championships, their showing in Palo Alto was more than 40 points better than their 2017 outing.
FOOTBALL (HERM EDWARDS / FIRST YEAR / HIRED DEC. 3, 2017)
Enjoyed a successful first season with Herm Edwards at the helm…impressive 5-1 home record including wins over Top-20 teams in Michigan State and Utah…Edwards was praised nationally for his game management, which reflected in a 4-1 in games decided by three points or less, tied for the most wins in the nation…Sun Devils capped the season with a dramatic victory in the battle for the Territorial Cup, as they scored 20 unanswered fourth quarter points en route to erasing a 19-point deficit in a 41-40 victory in Tucson...running back Eno Benjamin ran for three touchdowns in the contest and the Sun Devil defense pitched a shutout and forced two turnovers in the final frame in one of the most improbable comebacks in the history of the Territorial Cup...star wide receiver N'Keal Harry declared for the NFL Draft after a spectacular junior season…he continued his incredible streak of recording a catch in every game he played in, extending it to 37 games…the First Team All-Conference selection posted his second consecutive 1,000 yard season…showed off his versatility and explosiveness all season long, scoring 11 touchdowns in three different ways (nine receiving, one rushing, one punt return)…his 2,889 career receiving yards and 213 catches places him third in school history…quarterback Manny Wilkins completed his Sun Devil career fourth in school history with 702 completions, sixth in touchdown passes (52), fifth in passing yards (8,624), and fourth in total offense (9,659)…a two-time captain, Wilkins was a leader on the field and in the locker room as one of the faces of the program…running back Eno Benjamin put together a historic sophomore campaign in which his name ended up all over the Sun Devil record book….the Doak Walker Award semifinalist set the school record by rushing for 1,642 yards in 2018, breaking Woody Green's school record set in 1972…a workhorse for the offensive unit, Benjamin carried the load for the Sun Devil rushing attacking, scoring 16 touchdowns…he epitomized durability and reliability on his way to a school record 300 carries, while matching a school-record with nine 100+-yard rushing performances…the conference's leading rusher finished fifth in the nation in rushing yards and rushing yards per game…he broke the single-game school rushing record with his 312 yards against Oregon State…first-year coaching staff landed several impact prospects in his first recruiting cycle that saw the field immediately in 2018…under the tutelage of Defensive Coordinator and Broyles Award Nominee Danny Gonzales, the defensive unit improved tremendously…the defense allowed just 25.5 points per game this season, tying them for 50th nationally…a year ago, ASU was 103rd nationally at 32.8 points per game and had finished 99th or worse in three consecutive seasons prior to the marked improvement this year…also tied for 11th nationally in allowing just eight plays over 40 yards, an area the Devils have struggled in in recent seasons (allowing 20, 16, 30, 21 in the previous four seasons and finishing 103rd, 79th, 128th, 110th, respectively)…starting up to six freshmen on defense late in the season, the Sun Devils have a bright future on that side of the ball…freshman linebacker Merlin Robertson was named the 2018 Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year…he became the first true freshman to lead the Sun Devils in tackles (77) since 2001…fellow freshman linebackers Darien Butler and Tyler Johnson came on strong as the season progressed as well as other freshman standouts Aashari Crosswell (4 INT) and Jermayne Lole (3 sacks).

ICE HOCKEY (GREG POWERS / FOURTH YEAR / HIRED NOV. 18, 2014)
It was a historical season for the 2018-19 Sun Devils on the ice, becoming the fastest start-up Division I hockey program to reach the postseason in just its third full season. Under head coach Greg Powers -- who was voted the 2018-19 Frank Kush Coach of the Year by his peer coaches -- the program finished 21-13-1 and No. 15 in the final USCHO and USA Hockey Magazine/USA Today polls. The 13-win turnaround ranked atop the country, while also making the biggest jump in the all-important Pairwise rankings from 53 to 10 year-to-year. A peak in the season was reached in November as the Sun Devils knocked off a top-10 ranked team for the first time in program history, upsetting No. 6 Penn State in Happy Valley and leading to their first-ever ranking in week six of the season. Sophomore forward Johnny Walker picked up where he left off on the scoresheet, pacing the country in goals scored for most of the regular season and finishing the NCAA statistical champion for goals scored (23, 0.72 g/gp) -- the first 20-goal scorer in the program's young history. Between the pipes, junior netminder Joey Daccord had an equally remarkable season, setting the program record for wins (21), shutouts (7), save percentage (.936) and goals against average (2.35). His seven shutouts led the country during the regular season, elevating him to a Mike Richter finalist and CCM/AHCA second-team All-American -- both program firsts. At the end of the season, on April 1, Daccord became the first Sun Devil to sign an NHL entry-level contract as he signed with the Ottawa Senators who drafted him in 2015. Three days later, on April 4, he became the first Sun Devil to play in the NHL as he started for the Senators against the Buffalo Sabres.

SOFTBALL (TRISHA FORD/THIRD SEASON/HIRED JUNE 2016)
The Arizona State Sun Devil softball team (48-13, 16-8) made their 31st- NCAA postseason appearance and 42nd- overall appearance in postseason play, including appearances before the NCAA era. After finishing the season with a 33-18 overall record, including a 13-11 record in Pac-12 play. With a fourth-place conference finish in hand, the Sun Devils earned an at-large bid to the Tuscaloosa Regional, fighting their way to a 2-2 record before eventually falling to No. 8 Alabama in the Regional Finale. From an offensive standpoint, the 2019 season was one of the most productive seasons for the ASU lineup in program history. The team finished with the eighth highest batting average in program history (.314) while setting a new record with a .607 slugging percentage. The squad also combined to hit 91 home runs, the second most for a Sun Devil team, with eight of those long balls being grand slams (tying the program record set in 2012). Individually, Kindra Hackbarth led the team with a .412 batting average, a mark that ranks 13th all-time in ASU single season history, and stands as the highest batting average for a Sun Devil player since Amber Freeman hit at a .436 clip during the 2015 season. Maddi Hackbarth also enjoyed an incredible junior campaign, blasting 19 home runs on the year, a mark that ties for third all-time in a single season. She finished just one long ball shy of matching Cheyenne Coyle and Kaitlin Cochan's 20 home runs hit in the 2013 and 2009 seasons. Looking forward to 2020, ASU will return a bulk of their powerful lineup, including welcoming back players who combined to record 299 hits, 291 runs scored and 73 home runs.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING (BOB BOWMAN / FOURTH SEASON / HIRED APRIL 24, 2015)
Continuing their upward momentum under head coach Bob Bowman, Sun Devil women's swimming and diving achieved a top-20 finish at the NCAA National Championships, three places higher than their 2018 finish. ASU also garnered almost twice the amount of points as their 2018 total. Transfer Cierra Runge led the charge for the women, cementing herself in Arizona State history the second she was eligible in January. Runge finished the season with four school records, five of the top-10 times in ASU history in the 500 freestyle and all four of the top times in the 200 freestyle, a feat she achieved in just six meets. Silja Kansakoski reclaimed her crown at the Pac-12 Championships, taking the top mark in the 100 breast for the second time in three years. At NCAAs, the women had 13 All-America honors across seven women, including Runge's two First-Team selections in the 500 and 1650 freestyles.

MEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING (BOB BOWMAN / FOURTH SEASON / HIRED APRIL 24, 2015)
As the No. 15 Arizona State men's swimming and diving teams cap their fourth season under head coach Bob Bowman, the upward momentum experienced by both programs is substantial. Before Bowman's arrival, Sun Devil men's swimming had not registered an All-American since CJ Nuess in 2008. Since the Olympic coach came to Tempe beginning in the 2015-16 season, the squad has garnered 50 All-America honors while cementing themselves as one of the elite programs in the country. The men have also turned heads in one of the most competitive conferences in college swimming, bringing home three individual and one relay Pac-12 titles after not having done so since 2008. The internal improvement is also detailed by the men having set school records in eight of the 14 individual events and all five of the relay events under Bowman's tutelage.
