The Sun Devils will bring in the top recruiting class in the Pac-12 as well as the top class in the West for the second consecutive season.
The announcement comes on the heels of a 2016 signing class that was named the top class in the nation by the outlet, giving ASU consecutive Top-4 signing classes in the country. Last season's class boasted the likes of Pac-12 All-Conference Honorable Mentions Hunter Bishop and Lyle Lin.
The Sun Devils had eight members of the 15-player signing class drafted in the Professional Baseball Draft in June, with six of those electing to forgo a Major League contract to attend Arizona State. Seven of the incoming players were rated among Baseball America's Top 500 prospects, good for second nationally behind Vanderbilt (10).

The highly-touted Sun Devil class features 14 freshmen and one junior college transfer, spanning six states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois and Indiana.

After initially signing 12 players in the fall – two of which elected to sign professional contracts following the MLB Draft in June -- Smith and company added six signees during the spring singing period.
The 2017 Sun Devil class features six signees who participated in the 2015 Area Code Baseball Games, an invitation-only elite baseball event held annually in Long Beach, Calif., and one who played in the Tournament of the Stars - a showcase hosted by USA Baseball. Incoming freshman Gage Workman also spent part of his summer vying for a spot on the USA Baseball 18U National Team, spending time in Minnesota at the team trials.

The ranking is based on conversations with college coaches and pro scouts across the country this fall, as well as discussions during the spring as a part our information-gathering for the 2016 draft. The rankings do not consider transfers from four-year schools.
