CS Northrdige used a five-goal third quarter to break open the scoring in a close contest that it would end up winning, 11-6, to capture 11th place at the MPSF Championship Sunday morning in Tempe. Jessica Coy and Christie Cruz led the Matadors as each recorded a hat trick while Cruz scored all three of her goals in the second half, including two in the third quarter. Lindsay Knott led the Gauchos with two goals in the loss. In the goal, Jillian Stapf recorded a tournament-high 17 saves to pace the Matadors while Jenny Gonzales was credited with nine stops in the cage for UCSB.

California built an 8-6 lead after three quarters and held on in a tight contest to defeat Arizona State, 10-9, in the ninth-place game at the MPSF Championship Sunday morning in Tempe. Cal jumped out to an early 4-2 lead through one before the Sun Devils tied it at the half with a three goal output in the second. The third proved to be the difference as three different Golden Bears scored in the stanza to lead Cal to ninth place. Molly Hayes was the leading scorer for the Bears with two scored while the Sun Devils were led by two-goal showings from both Addison Doud and Amanda Stepp. The goalie duo of Lauren Burke (four) and Heather Stuart (seven) combined for 11 stops while Caylinn Wallace had 10 in the loss.

Lauren Machanis stopped eight shots in the victory while Kim Hayes halted 13 as the Anteaters placed seventh in the tournament.

San Diego State used a ballanced scoring attack, netting five goals in each half, to hold on to defeat San Jose State, 10-6, and finish fifth in the MPSF Championship tournament in Tempe, Ariz. Erin Greenwood netted a hat trick with two goals coming in the second half while Anna Gonzales scored twice to help the Aztecs to victory. Geraldine Hazlett and Alexis Higlett each scored twice to pace the Spartan attack. Defensively, Sarah Kilgore stopped six shots for the win while Kendra Adama did her part to try and keep SJSU in it, stopping 21 shots on the day.

USC used a 4-0 third quarter scoring advantage on its way to a 14-7 victory in the third place game of the MPSF Championship over Hawaii Sunday in Tempe. Brittany Hayes led all scorers with a hat trick while Kami Craig, Erika Figge, Kally Lucas and Jana Wenger each recorded two goals in the win. Hawaii was paced by a pair of two-goal scorers as both Amy Logan and Lida van Raalte netted scores for the Rainbow Wahine. Defensively, Meike de Nooy recorded 12 saves in the loss for UH while winning goalie Tumua Anea halted seven in the win.

UCLA shut out Stanford in the first and fourth quarters of play while limiting the nation's top-ranked team to just three goals in all as the No. 2 Bruins scored a 9-3 victory in the final of the MPSF Championship to earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Championships in two weeks. The win for UCLA gives the Bruins their sixth MPSF title in the 12 years the tournament hsa been held and snapped the Cardinal's 22-game winning streak. Kelly Rulon had four goals to outscore Stanford, including a hat trick in the first quarter, while Courtney Mathewson added a pair of scores in the win. Katie Hansen was the leading Cardinal scorer, netting a pair of goals in the loss. In the cage, UCLA's Emily Feher came up big with eight saves while Meridith McColl recorded four in the loss.
