The Arizona State University baseball program had 22 student-athletes earn Scholar Baller® recognition during the fall semester, which honors those who achieved a 3.0 GPA or made outstanding academic improvement.
"A major part of living the Sun Devil Way is taking pride in your education," head coach Tim Esmay said. "From day one we put an emphasis on our guys balancing both the student and athlete component of playing baseball at ASU. I've always thought the staff in our Office of Student-Athlete Development is the best in the country, and they continue to prove they are every semester."
The list includes three seniors, eight juniors, three sophomores and eight freshmen. Junior right-handed pitcher Josh McAlister (accounting) and freshman outfielder Christopher Beall (management) are both in Barrett, The Honors College.
Junior outfielder Kasey Coffman (justice studies/sociology minor) and senior catcher Max Rossiter (business) earned Academic All-Pac-12 recognition last season.
A Scholar Baller® is an individual who embraces the opportunity to balance playbooks with textbooks and excels in school, his or her sport, and ultimately in life.
