MLB Legacy: Older brothers Raoul and Riccio both played for the Sun Devils and became the first set of brothers to start alongside one another in school history (sixth all-time to suit for ASU at the same time)...Raoul was an infielder from 2007-2010 and was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 21st round of the 2010 MLB draft...Riccio was an infielder from 2009-2011 and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the fourth round of the 2011 MLB draft.
High School: Three-year letterman in baseball...team defensive MVP three consecutive seasons...two-time All-Region honorable mention (soph., junior seasons)...set a Brophy College Prep school record for walks and fielding percentage as a senior...had a .512 on-base percentage with 41 runs as a senior...hit .317 with a .403 OBP as a sophomore...most exciting moment in sports was coming back and beating mesquite in state semifinals.
Personal: Exploratory major...chose ASU because it his hometown university and his two older brothers played here...his two older brothers, former Sun Devil baseball players Raoul and Riccio, have had the biggest influence on his baseball career...enjoys fishing...favorite pro athlete is Dustin Pedroia and favorite team is Arizona Diamondbacks...favorite person to follow on Twitter is Jason Kipnis (@TheJK_Kid)...if he could learn to do anything, it would be to dunk a basketball...most played song on his iPod is "Thugz Mansion" by Tupac...parents are Raoul and Liz Torrez...born May 14, 1994...full name is Emilio Ernesto Torrez.
