2013 (Junior): Leads the team with a 1.29 ERA and has allowed just two earned runs in 14 innings this season...threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings with two strikeouts and gave up just two hits and no walks in an 8-5 win over Texas Tech May 15, and also tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings with just two hits and walk in a 7-6 loss to Arizona May 19...both outings tied his season high for innings pitched...two-time Scholar Baller honoree (Spring '13, Fall '12).

2012 (Sophomore):Made five relief appearances, including three to finish the game, and pitched 7.1 innings... recorded a strikeout in four of his five appearances...pitched two innings in three appearances...gave up no runs on one hit in two innings at New Mexico April 9...scattered two hits across two scoreless innings vs. Arizona May 16.

2011 (Freshman): Saw action in three games out of the bullpen, including the NCAA Regional...had a 1.80 ERA in five innings.

High School: A 2010 graduate of La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico...earned four varsity letters in baseball...helped lead La Cueva to state titles in 2008 and 2010...earned First Team All-District honors his junior and senior seasons...was a First Team All-State selection during his senior season, when he was named the La Cueva Baseball Student-Athlete of the Year...is the only pitcher in New Mexico history to start three different state title games...compiled a 20-4 record on the mound, including a 9-1 mark his senior season...led the state with his 0.92 ERA in his sophomore year.

Personal: An accounting major in Barrett, The Honors College...parents are Jamie and Laurie McAlister of Albuquerque, New Mexico...has two sisters, Hannah and Jessica, and a brother, Caleb...his father played quarterback for New Mexico State...his cousin is former MLB Pitcher pitcher Justin Duchscherer...was Student Body Vice President of La Cueva High in his senior year...enjoys playing ping pong and poker...chose ASU because it gives him "best chance to win the national title"...his favorite movie is Miracle...lists the Dallas Cowboys as his favorite team...born May 19, 1991...full name is Joshua James McAlister.
