ONE OF JUST FOUR, AND THEN ONE OF JUST...ONE
ASU is one of just four schools (Brown, Michigan and Long Island) to have hockey, wrestling, women's gymnastics and women's water polo...and is the only one of that group that sponsors beach volleyball. ASU is the only university that sponsors hockey, wrestling, gymnastics, water polo and beach volleyball.

Arizona State is one of nine schools that sponsors “P4” football and men’s hockey, along with Boston College, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State.
SPORT ADDITIONS IN PAST 30 YEARS
LACROSSE: Head coach Courtney Martinez Connor was hired Nov. 5, 2015. Its first game was on Feb. 9, 2018.
MEN'S TENNIS: Matt Hill on hired June 29, 2016 to start program after it was cut after the 2007-08 season. It began play in the fall of 2017 and played a full season in 2017-18.
TRIATHLON: Cliff English has led the program from its start as its first competition was on Sept. 5, 2016.
HOCKEY: Greg Powers was named head coach on Nov. 18, 2014. Its first game was on Oct. 4, 2015.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL: Volleyball coach Jason Watson also handled beach volleyball duties as it started on March 9, 2014.
WOMEN'S WATER POLO: Vicki Gorman was the first coach, as the program played its first match on Feb. 9, 2002.
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Terri Patraw was the first coach, as its first season was fall of 1996 as the team went 4-11-1.
