Michael McGee, one of the most decorated Sun Devils of all time, has joined Zeke Jones' coaching staff ahead of the 2024-25 season as the team's Recruiting Coordinator. AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE: 2023 NWCA Scholar All-American 2023 Name InterMat's Pac-12 Wrestler of the Year 2023 NCAA All-American (133, 3rd place) (Three-time All-American) 2023 Pac-12 Champion (133, 2nd Pac-12 title, fourth overall conference title) 2022 NCAA All-American (133, 4th place)  2021 NCAA All-American (133, 6th place) 2022 Pac-12 Champion (133 lbs) 2021 Pac-12 Winter Honor Roll Two-time MAC Champion at 125 pounds while with Old Dominion (2018, 2019) 2022-23 (Redshirt Senior): Finished with a 25-3 record (Five tech-falls & Five major decisions) Named Intermat's Pac-12 Wrestler of the year Went 5-1 at the NCAA Championships, seeded fourth and placed in third after a 2-1 decision win over No. 2 Daton Fix. Won his second Pac-12 title in the 133 weight class after a 6-1 decision over Jason Shaner.  Came out victorious in 16 of his last 17 matches, including five tech-falls, one pin and one major decision. Started the season on a nine-match win streak. Finished as the 133 runner-up at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational #4 McGee defeated HM Connor Brown of Missouri by decision, 6-4 on Nov. 18 in ASU's home opener. Went 3-0 at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic which included a decision, major decision and a fall. #4 McGee defeated 18/16 Joe Heilmann at the Rutgers duel by major decision. 11-3. 2021-2022 (Redshirt junior): 26-4 record (5 Major Decisions, 8 tech fall victories) Went 4-2 to place fourth in NCAA Championships NCAA qualifier for the fourth time - seeded No. 3. His 14 team points at the NCAA Championships were the second-most on the team. McGee's 18 match-points in his NCAA Championship first-round tech fall victory over Richie Koehler tied for 10th in the tournament. McGee had 51 total match points at NCAAs, good for 12th in the tournament. That's a 12-point lead over Courtney (39). Earned his first Pac-12 title with a 6-2 decision over Cal State-Bakersfield’s Chance Rich. Two-time Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week Nov. 23 & Feb. 1 Sixteen match win streak from 01/03- 03/17, with three of those coming from major decisions Suffered a loss in his third dual meet, then won out, taking his win streak to the first round of NCAA Championships Won the 133 weight class at the Mountaineer Invitational, with a perfect 3-0, with a major decision 2020-21 (Redshirt Junior): Placed third at Pac-12 Championships (133 lbs.)
