COACHING EXPERIENCE
Myers' 2012 class was in the Top 10 percent in the nation for Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in softball, take a lookhere.
A coach at various levels in both softball and baseball, Clint Myers came to Tempe by way of 19 highly successful years at Central Arizona College.
Compiled an overall record of 887-235 between both softball and baseball at Central Arizona College (NJCAA).
Head coach of Central Arizona College's baseball team from 1996-2005, posting a 406-192 record and going to the Junior College World Series twice. He was named NJCAA Coach of the Year in 2002.
Myers ran the Vaqueros' softball team from 1987 to 1995. Built a record of 481-43 and guiding the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) softball powerhouse to six national titles, including five in a row (1988-1992), while earning the NJCAA National Coach of the Year honor six times.
His teams also captured seven regional titles and nine ACCAC Conference titles.
Coached at Casa Grande Union High School for three seasons and led the team to league championships in 1977, 1978 and 1979.
Coached in the Connie Mack Baseball League as the skipper of the Long Beach Cardinals from 1975-1976.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Became the third coach in ASU softball history to amass 400 victories, an accomplishment he recorded against Pittsburgh on March 9, 2013.
An inductee into the NJCAA Softball Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Arizona Softball Foundation Hall of Fame in 2001.
Selected as the National Softball Coaches Association (NSCA) regional and National Coach of the Year in 1990, 1991 and 1992.
Took over the baseball program at the start of the 1996 season.
The NJCAA National Coach of the Year in 2002.
Won the Western District twice (1999, 2002) and finished runner-up three other times (2000, 2001 and 2004).
Voted as the Arizona High School Baseball Coach of the Year after Casa Grande Union High School won the state title.
ATHLETIC CAREER
Played for Lakewood Senior High School and helped his team to the 1970 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Championship.
Joined the Sun Devils, playing from 1970 through 1973.
Was a member of the CWS National Runner-up in both 1972 and 1973.
Drafted in the third round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1973.
Graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Education (BAE), Secondary Ed, Physical Education major in May, 1976.
PERSONAL
Myers and wife Katie have two sons, Casey and Corey.
Has two grandsons Cole and Christian and one granddaughter, Carlee, born July 2012.
