ASU leads this series 48-24 dating back to 1984. The Sun Devils have won the last seven of 10 meeting and the last three-straight series match ups, including on the road 2-1 in 2010. Under Clint Myers, ASU is 15-6 against the Cardinal.
The Sun Devils (34-3, 5-1 Pac-12) have one of their strongest duos in the circle in the conference with Mackenzie Popescue, who is 15-0 on a 0.92 ERA, and Dallas Escobedo, 18-3. Escobedo tied for fourth all-time at ASU with 79 career victories last Saturday and ranks seventh nationally in wins this season. Popescue is holding her own, she's fifth on the nationally boards in ERA and 19th in victories.
Though 16 ASU players are hitting above .300 on the year, only six are doing so in conference games only. With a 5-1 record, ASU is hitting .299 as a team but is recording about double the stats as opponents with a conference best 37 RBI, 11 homers, 38 runs and a .554 slugging percentage.
Stanford is coming off mid-week games against Oregon State. Sitting at 26-10, 4-5 Pac-12 the Cardinal have gotten off to a rocky start in conference play. Opening weekend they were swept by Oregon and then dropped on game at UCLA in extra innings. Stanford picked up two wins at Oregon State on Tuesday but fell 4-3 to the Beavers on Wednesday to enter the weekend series against the Sun Devils on a one-game losing streak and having won their last two Pac-12 series'.
