Ben Flam tied for 16th but the Arizona State men's golf team could not advance to the NCAA Championships as it finished 20th in the NCAA Western Regional this weekend. ASU shot its best round, a six-over 294, in the final round but missed the top 10 by 18 shots as only two Pac-10 teams advanced to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 29-June 1 in Columbus. ASU entered the regional with a string of 18 straight NCAA appearances, the third-best active streak in the country.
