Mesa High School's own Jahii Carson came to ASU hoping to make an impact. He sure did in a lot of ways, and his name is all over the Sun Devil freshmen records list.

--His 18.5 points per game is second only to Ike Diogu's 19.0 in 2002-03 among Sun Devil freshman. James Harden's 17.8 is third.
--His 18.5 points per game ranks seventh in Pac-10/12 history for a freshmen, and his 177 assists rank sixth.

--He became the first Sun Devil freshmen to both start and play in 35 games. Ty Abbott started in 34 in 2007-08, while Abbott, Harden and Jamelle McMillan played in all 34 that same season. Harden did not start a win down in Tucson that season due to illness.
--His 37.2 minutes per game topped the school freshmen record of 34.1 by Harden. In Pac-12 games, his 38.3 minutes per game topped Harden's 35.9.
--Jahii also set Sun Devil freshmen records for points (647), field goals made (231) and attempted (488), assists (177), total minutes (1,303) and 20-point games (18).
--He attempted 207 free throws, third on the Sun Devil freshmen list, as only Ike Diogu (245 in 2002-03) and James Harden (224 in 2007-08) attempted more.
--His three 30-point games is a first for a Sun Devil freshmen, and the three games rank second, third and tied for fifth on the single-game Sun Devil freshmen list. Even more impressive is each of the three games was played away from home.
