SUN DEVIL DATA
A floor leader for all four years as ASU was much better with him healthy as the Sun Devils were 74-48 (.607) with Jamelle and 6-5 (.545) without him in his career. Had a great summer experience in 2008, as he spent 16 days with Team USA in China as dad Nate was an assistant coach. One of the top point guard recruits on the west coast his senior year (2006-07) who led his high school team to three state titles (2007, 2005 and 2004) in his four years and gained a reputation as a great lockdown defender and a terrific distributor. Once scored 64 points in game...okay, it was a second grade Boys & Girls Club tilt, but you get the feeling of how long he has been around the game. Played high school hoops in the talent-rich Seattle area and his team won more than 100 games in his four years. Entering his freshman year, in its "Best of the Pac-10" with regards to recruiting classes, Rivals.com gave McMillan its best defender award. He is the son of former NBA player and Portland Trail Blazer head coach Nate McMillan and was ranked as the top point guard on the west coast by Rivals.com and was No. 99 overall player by Scout.com after his senior season. Finished his career with 321 assists and just 153 turnovers. Led the Pac-10 in assist-to-turnover ratio and finished 14th nationally at 2.68 (110 assists and 41 turnovers) and led the Pac-10 in the 18 regular season games in that category as well at 2.35 per game in his senior year (2010-11).
JMAC IN SENIOR SEASON
Jamelle played through a nagging groin injury in his senior year since December that caused him to miss three games but averaged 11.0 points in the final 11 games and was 23-of-50 (.460) from three in those tilts and led the league in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.68). He posted three of the top scoring games in his career in the final 11 contests with a career-high 17 at Stanford (Feb. 5), 14 at Cal (Feb. 3) and 13 vs. UCLA (Jan. 29). Had six steals vs. Long Beach on Dec. 21, most by a Sun Devil since James Harden had seven vs. USC on March 13, 2008, in the Pac-10 Tournament. Jamelle led team in scoring twice in 2010-11 and four times in his career and shared lead or led ASU in assists 17 times in 2010-11 and 33 times in career.

80 WINS IN FOUR SEASONS
Jamelle McMillan and fellow 2010-11 Sun Devil seniors Rihards Kuksiks and Ty Abbott won an ASU-record 80 games in their four years. Prior to their arrival, ASU won 37 games in the previous four seasons. ASU's best four-year span of total wins was 88 from 1959-60 to 1962-63 and also from 1960-61 to 1963-64, but that was before freshman were eligible. The 80 wins by each of the seniors is the best by any four-year player, as Gary Jackson (1973-76) was with the program for 79 wins.

WITH AND WITHOUT JAMELLE IN 2009-10
"JMac" was all over the stat sheet the eight games prior to his injury in mid-January of 2010, as he missed four games, and ASU was 2-2. In the eight games prior to the injury he averaged 32.8 minutes, 9.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and had 12 steals and just 11 turnovers. What is eye-opening are the numbers with him playing and not playing. Some notes to ponder from 2009-10...ASU gave up 57.1 points per game in the 29 games he played yet gave up 70.5 in his absence...as the point man in the zone, ASU opponents shot .450 from the field and .363 in the games he was missing, yet in the games he played those numbers dropped to .394 and .311.
WITH AND WITHOUT JAMELLE IN 2008-09
In 2008-09, he was playing very well at the end of the year before a groin injury took him out of the final regular season game and the Pac-10 Tournament. In a seven-game span from Feb. 7 to March 5, which included four straight wins at Oregon State and then vs. NCAA Tournament-bound UCLA, USC and Arizona at home, he averaged 26 minutes, eight points and was 20-of-37 (.541) from the floor and 14-of-27 (.519) from the three-point stripe. He had career-high 14 points at Oregon State, 11 vs. Arizona and 10 at Washington State, but a late-game injury on March 5 vs. Stanford made him limited in the postseason.
HE TAKES CARE OF THE BALL
Jamelle had just 12 turnovers and 37 assists in 368 Pac-10 minutes in 2009-10 (junior year), a turnover every 30.7 minutes. Evidence of his improvement in taking care of the ball can also be noted in that he had 36 turnovers in 594 minutes in his sophomore year and just 33 in 799 minutes season. He posted just 153 turnovers in 2,713 career minutes, just one turnover every 17.7 minutes.
JUNIOR SEASON (2009-10)
Played in 29 games, started in 28 and averaged 27.6 minutes...started every game in he played except Senior Day vs. UCLA on March 6...posted 81 assists, second on the team...had 37 assists and just 12 turnovers in 368 Pac-10 minutes...posted double digits in seven games with a career-best 16 points vs. eventual Big West champion UCSB on Dec. 21, 2009...also had solid floor game vs. eventual Mountain West Conference Tournament champion San Diego State on Dec. 19 with 12 points, four steals and three assists in season-high 38 minutes.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2008-09)
Played in 31 games, started in six and averaged 19.2 minutes...posted 57 assists, third on the team...had a season-high 14 points at Oregon State on Feb. 7 in 39 minutes as Derek Glasser had to sit with injury. Jamelle was 5-of-9 from the field, 4-of-7 from the three-point stripe and added four assists...also had 10 points vs. BYU in 18 minutes on Dec. 20...posted double digits in five games.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2007-08)
Played in all 34 games (setting ASU freshman record along with Ty Abbott and James Harden), started in 16 and averaged 14.2 minutes...posted 73 assists, third on the team...had season-high 12 points at Oregon State on final day of regular season which clinched .500 Pac-10 record as he was 5-of-7 from the floor in just 11 minutes...also had 11 points vs. Washington on Jan. 24...had five assists in California road win on Jan. 17, matching a season-high...played season-high 30 minutes vs. Washington State on Jan. 26...started first 10 games of the year.
BIG SHOT IN FRESHMAN YEAR
Jamelle's left-handed drive in Tucson in 2008 was one of the biggest shots of the 21-win 2007-08 season. With just over two minutes to play, the shot clock winding down, momentum swinging back to the home team and ASU leading by six, McMillan drove the lane and used the rim as a protector to give ASU an eight-point lead (57-49) that would be the last field goal ASU would score in its come-from-behind win at Tucson on Feb. 11, marking ASU's first sweep of the Wildcats since 1995.
O'DEA HIGH SCHOOL
Played for the late coach Phil Lumpkin at O'Dea and for Jim Marsh for Friends of Hoop...led team to 25-5 mark in senior year as O'Dea won Class 3A state title over Bainbridge 56-31 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion...averaged 13 points, five boards and eight assists in junior year...averaged 8.4 points per game in sophomore season...earned four letters in basketball while establishing Washington prep records for state titles won (three) and appearances (four)...best game was against Cleveland High with 27 points, 11 assists and six boards in senior year...first-team All-Metro in final three seasons and first-team all-state as well...named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Washington in senior season.
ETC.
Born December 30, 1988, in Seattle...father is Nate and mom is Michelle...has a younger sister, Brittany.
