Cuttin' it loose

  • According to PFF, Boley's 72.7 percent accuracy percentage (ball location accurate, frame, away from coverage) was sixth in the country (min. 25 dropbacks).
  • His 77.8 completion percentage was second in Big 12 (min. 25 dropbacks) and 85.2 adjusted completion percentage (accounting for blocks, batting passed, hit while thrown, throwaways and spikes) was tops in the league and 11th nationally.

Smooth Operator

  • Arizona State recorded 681 yards of total offense with Boley leading the effort, the most in a contest since Sept. 10, 2016 against Texas Tech with 652 yards.
  • The 681 yards, 9.6 yards per play, six passing touchdowns and 432 passing yards were all the most in the Big 12 this week.
  • Arizona State’s 30-second scoring drive to open up the game orchestrated by Boley is the fastest opening scoring drive for the Sun Devils since at least 2007. The next closes was a 1:02 scoring drive to open the 2011 season against Missouri.
  • Boley and the Sun Devils put up 28 points in the first quarter, their highest-scoring opening quarter in a season opener.
  • It is the most in ANY quarter by Arizona State since Sept. 24, 2016 when they tallied 31 points against California on Sept. 24, 2016.

"He's a worker. He loves the ball. He went out there today and just executed the plan, which is what I love to see: guys who don't try to do too much. I thought he played really, really well. I thought he controlled the game. He made some really nice checks there that became explosives, and some touchdowns. So, I was really happy that I played."

Boley Ball

  • Morgan State gave up just seven points in their season opener against North Carolina A&T a week ago.
  • The Sun Devils did not attempt a single field goal and also did not punt a single time on Saturday - marking just the second time since at least 1996 that has happened (vs. Navy in the 2012 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl).

Arizona State finished with 10 Player of the Week selections in the 16-team Big 12 in 2025, reaching double digits for the second straight season. They had the fourth-most winners last season, a year after having the highest total of any team in the league (12) in 2024. The success has continued into this campaign, with ASU already claiming one of the first six available weekly awards.
