TEMPE – No. 5 Sun Devil Water Polo readies for the postseason as they head to the MPSF Conference Championships in Berkeley, Calif. from April 10-12.

Arizona State will open up the postseason with a matchup against No. 4 California on April 10 at 2:30 p.m. MST. The Sun Devils faced the Golden Bears earlier this season at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center, where ASU fell in heartbreaking fashion to Cal, 11-10, on a buzzer-beating goal with one second remaining in regulation.

Last time out

No. 5 Sun Devil Water Polo closed out the regular season on a high note last Friday morning, defeating No. 10 Indiana 15-13 in a back-and-forth MPSF conference matchup.

Seven Sun Devil student-athletes recorded multiple points in the contest. Freshman attacker Maci Magee led the team with five points on two goals and three assists, while fellow freshman Dominika Kardos added four points on two goals and two assists. Freshman attacker Jelena Butic, attacker Laura Kardos, utility Miya Tirosh, senior center Sophie Shorter-Robinson, and graduate center Nioka Thomas each also tallied multiple points on the afternoon.

Millie Quin now sits at third place on MPSF’s career goals-scored list. The senior began her collegiate career at California, where she found the back of the net 19 times, before tallying the remainder of her career total at Arizona State.
