TEMPE – With a 6-0 record, No. 8 Sun Devil Beach Volleyball returns to Tempe for its first of two home weekends this season, hosting the Sun Devil Classic with Nebraska, No. 19 Arizona, Southern Miss and Stephen F. Austin.
Arizona State squares off against Nebraska and Arizona on Friday before taking on Southern Miss and SFA on Saturday.

Sun Devil outlook
No. 8 Arizona State (6-0)
- The Sand Devils picked up their second undefeated weekend of the season, sweeping No. 19 Georgia State and No. 20 Arizona at the Cactus Classic in Tucson. ASU has lost just one dual point all season, sweeping five of of the six duals.
- Arizona State is the last team in the top 20 that is undefeated. This is the second time under head coach Kristen Glattfelder that Arizona State has begun the season 6-0, which is the best start in team history. The last time it happened was in 2024, when the Sand Devils also started off the season on a six-game win streak. The longest win streak in ASU history is seven in a row, which happened last season.
- The Sun Devils are undefeated against unranked teams under Glattfelder. Additionally, the team has four ranked wins already this season.
- Arizona State is ranked No. 8 in the AVCA Coaches Poll, the highest ranking in program history. The Sun Devils have been ranked in every poll since the 2024 preseason poll.
- All five Sun Devil pairs went undefeated over the weekend, with McKenna Flaherty and Kristin Gilmour (No. 4 court) being the only pair to not drop a single set.
- Under Glattfelder, the Sand Devils are 6-1 against Arizona.
- Glattfelder is one win away from 50 wins while the head coach at Arizona State. She also is three wins away from 200 career wins as a head coach.
Opponent outlook
Nebraska (4-0)
- The Cornhuskers opened the season with three wins over Ottawa (KS), Trinidad State and Wayne State.
- The Huskers went 22-3 during the 2025 season.
- ASU and Nebraska have only squared off once, with the Sun Devils taking the dual in 2018, winning 3-2.
No. 19 Arizona (6-2)
- The Wildcats put up their second 3-1 weekend, with their only losses this season coming against then No. 5 TCU two weekends ago and Arizona State last weekend.
- Arizona picked up a ranked win last weekend over No. 19 Georgia State, sweeping the dual.
- UofA went 18-12 in 2025, falling to ASU three times.
- Arizona holds a 14-11 record over Arizona State all-time, but the Sun Devils have won the last five in a row, sweeping all matchups last season.
Southern Miss(2-6)
- The Eagles lost four duals over the weekend, two of them to ranked opponents No. 12 LSU and No. 18 Washington
- Southern Miss went 14-25 in 2025.
- The Sun Devils and the Eagles will square off for the first time this weekend.
Stephen F. Austin (2-1)
- The Ladyjacks kicked off the season with a 2-1 weekend, picking up wins over Nicholls and McKendree.
- Going 22-14 in 2025, Stephen F. Austin lost to San Jose State in the consolation bracket quarterfinals of the Southland Conference Tournament.
- The Sun Devils and Ladyjacks have played each other once, in 2021. ASU swept the dual.
