The No. 8 Sun Devil Men's Golf team continued its busy March at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at Floridian National Golf Club (par 71/7,088 yards) in Palm City, Fla.  This year’s tournament featured five of the nation’s top-10 teams and ten of the top 25.

ASU -- sans senior All-American Michael Mjaaseth, who is out with injury -- shot 12-under 840 (278-283-279) and finished 14th as play concluded Tuesday.

The Sun Devils -- now 82-44-2 in head-to-head competition -- are in a stretch of five tournaments (15 rounds) in a 31-day span after playing in Mexico, San Francisco, Tucson, Florida and now finish the month in Texas at the Maridoe Invitational (Mar. 30-31)>

Last time out
The Sun Devils continue their strong play as they tied for third -- just four strokes from the best score -- with a 21-under 843 (275-284-284) at the 46th annual 14-team Arizona Thunderbirds Collegiate held at Tucson Country Club. The host Wildcats shot 25-under 839 (277-280-282). Fifa Laopakdee continues his great play as he finished at 6-under 210 (67-68-75). ASU got great play from freshman Raul Gomez, who played as an individual, as he finished at 5-under 211 (66-72-73) after firing a 6-under 66 in the opening round that included an eagle on the 532-yard par-5 10th hole.

Hey, look at Fifa!
Sun Devil junior Fifa Laopakdee has joined a pretty cool list. He now has earned collegiate medalist honors four times, tied for eighth on the Sun Devil career list. One more and he joins 1993 NCAA champion Todd Demsey with five career wins.
