ITHACA, N.Y. – Sun Devil Wrestling is set for its first tri-dual meet of the season, taking on Cornell and Columbia on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Friedman Wrestling Center in Ithaca, New York.

The Sun Devils claimed three bouts on the evening, as redshirt sophomore No. 26 Pierson Manville (141 lb.), redshirt sophomore No. 2 Kaleb Larkin (157 lb.) and graduate student No. 19 David Szuba (HWT) each notched wins for the Sun Devils. 

Manville picked up his second win by major decision (MD) of the season, while Szuba nabbed his fifth win by MD - his 11th bonus point victory of the season -  to now pace the Sun Devils in both respective categories. 

Additionally, Larkin now moves to 5-0 at the 157-lb. mark after beginning the season at 149 lbs.

Scouting the opposition
No. 18 Cornell (5-4, 2-0 Ivy League)
The Sun Devils and the Big Red are facing off for just the fifth time in program history. Cornell took the most recent matchup in 2025 and leads the all-time series 3-1. 

Cornell features eight different ranked wrestlers, including four ranked within the top five in each respective weight class. Notably, No. 2 ranked Jaxon Joy (149-lb.) handed Kaleb Larkin his only loss of the season at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 6, 2025. Larkin has since moved up to 157 lbs. and is 5-0 in the weight reclassification.

The Sun Devils and Lions are set to face off in a dual setting for the first time in program history. Columbia enters this weekend 6-3 in dual meets and has won four in a row after going 2-0 last weekend. Columbia downed Princeton on the road and followed that with an upset of No. 22 Penn. Senior Cesar Alvan was named the Ivy League Wrestler of the Week after going 2-0 with a pair of ranked wins.
